Long day break or short weekend away.

.... well, badgers can be very sociable animals so sharing your hole would probably have its upsides along with doing your bit for the conservation effort. Very active at night too, so I understand !

That's still 480Wh (more than you get on the "bigger size" 12Ah 36V Bosch battery). I'd hazard a guess at 25-30km without having to ration available assistance unduly to try to conserve battery and actually allowing bike to be ridden in a comfortable 35-40kph 'commuting speed' cycling range...

    Screw this!!!!

I'm not an expert on veg but have grown a bit. Compost all rots down in the end so you should be fine, wissy. Just make sure there's good drainage under the beds (having them raised already helps) and all that compost will feed your veggies nicely with some extra liquifeed / fertilizer depending...

If it's in Geordie land it's a virtual cert. One big rabbit warren :o ;)

:) ... well if it's the innocent end of human interaction then matters not a jot ! Honestly ...

    Kalkhoff Endeavour BS10 400Wh

Best thing to do as always is go ride one (if you're looking at 350W hub bikes then try to get a ride on a dongle'd bosch or other derestricted crank drive with torque sensor), and then judge for yourself what you think based on what you experience and how it feels to you. I think you can...

Long day break or short weekend away.

Well, yes, that is also true ! Have to admit I didn't really think of that and would have been surprised if I'd met Mountainsport and she'd turned out to be a guy. But qualities are qualities and I guess it matters little in the end !

    Kalkhoff Endeavour BS10 400Wh

The Endeavour has bosch system so works on triple sensors like Impulse - speed, torque (and cadence I think). With a tuning dongle it would be a very capable bike - but the battery capacity is a big issue with high assist speeds and imho you need 2 batteries for any sort of sensible distances if...

Mountainsport has always displayed the finer qualities of one of the fairer sex.

    Kalkhoff Endeavour BS10 400Wh

^^ Haha ... I was thinking more of this actually ! :p Yes, a lot of the cost was some niceties like built-in lighting and GPS chargers etc, which to me do add a great deal to the bike actually - but £50 is too much of an underestimate for most people not following that precise stripped...

    Kalkhoff Endeavour BS10 400Wh

^^ pretty much exactly what bilabonic already bought (bar the new-style controller with display). It's just the £50 covering everything else that .. er .. sometimes doesn't quite work out to plan ... !

So you stop pedalling but it's like you've got a throttle stuck for a bit ?

Reckon you'll see when you ride it. I've my doubts about quite how effective a Nuvinci would be in an effectively derestricted bike - don't know what sort of sensors that bike uses but if torque sensor is involved my speculation (from simple experience not any technical understanding of how) is...

Looks interesting - good to see it fitted with a chain tensioner on those hub gears also - should get reliable higher speeds off the crank drive with the 11sp hub and the motor/48V combo. Let us know how you get on with it and how the power delivery works on this one out on the road :).

Just down the road, Scimitar. Disgraceful. ;)

Using electrically-assisted bikes: lazy cheaters or healthy travellers?

.... a test run of the ignore member function has just been very refreshing by the way (wish I'd found it before).... for me like a watered down version of the relief I expect you'd feel after cutting contact with a compulsively abusive partner. However much credence you may have given to some...

Eureka ... Just found this ... "Can I block posts, emails and messages from specific users? If there are particular members that bother you and you do not want to see their posts or receive Private Messages and Emails from them, then you can add these members to your 'Ignore List'. There are...

Using electrically-assisted bikes: lazy cheaters or healthy travellers?

More assumptions, more sneering self-righteousness. If you were referring to mine I'd ask you not to infer a truthful anecdote is a lie. Lying is not one of my personal attributes and I don;t take kindly to people making false accusations. I'm done with this one. When I see some proper positive...

Using electrically-assisted bikes: lazy cheaters or healthy travellers?

Which makes me wonder about another point - would they have bother to stop someone riding a bog standard town bike or bothered if they though there wasn't what's perceived as an expensive sports bike at risk ? You are right - bike thefts are a serious nuisance and there's precious little...
