Do you mean in the sense that they don't stamp a rating on the motor ? lol !

    e-cigarettes

The notion that 2nd hand eCig vapour is going to cause health problems to the extent of needing to be banned is nothing short of laughable. Perhaps many have forgotten that we all used to huddle round fires breathing in real smoke every day and some people lived to ripe old ages nonetheless...

    e-cigarettes

How typically enlightened of a British workplace .... does steam coming from a battery-powered device really cause that much offence ?

    Xofo Motor

Watching with interest ! Be great to see some Ah/mile readings on this motor at 20-25mph range for comparative efficiency too if you get the chance :). Now we just need you to open one up and see what's really inside ! Seeing as the CST 500W seems discontinued perhaps this is the contender for...

Is this the Ultimate Stealth e-bike?

Looks like it'd be a very good off-road hardtail - for functionality the design doing away with mounted batteries is a big plus. Sadly don't like the colour schemes at all though. But ... sorry to say it does amuse me somewhat how fixated some people are about hiding the fact they are riding...

    Good luck and bad luck

Heck - not quite the weekend on the water you had in mind I'm sure ! There's a saying that the best days of owning a boat are the day you buy them and the day you sell them ;) .... but I'm sure that was made up by someone who'd had a similarly stressful episode ! Sorry about the watch :( ... I...

Less chance of arrest on a Woosh!

I wonder if Barclays had that sort of advertising in mind when they graced the Boris bikes with their logo !

    CST - it's all working

Reunited with my bike a couple of days ago - Survived the white van journey fully assembled with plenty of bubble wrap and everything working perfectly when I joined it a few days ago. Four months on from placing my original order, I finally got to ride it on the route it was originally designed...

    Clipless pedals

Not really - multidirectional release cleats are so easy to unclip from you don't give it a 2nd thought. If you're stopping and starting putting your foot on the floor every minute or so with loads of cars weaving around buses etc in a queue you just don't clip in. That's why those downhill...

    Clipless pedals

Once you use them you'll never turn back (barring an injury as above !) ... if you get some Shimano PD647s (perfect for eBikes) you can easily ride unclipped on them with or without cleats so nothing to be scared of - just take your time getting used to them :).

Is it me or is it the bike?

From everything reported on this bike, it sounds very much like this is likely. Higher power assist mode is presumably akin to more throttle. You feel this mainly in a greater rate of acceleration but as bike is restricted it often doesn't take that long to reach cutoff speed so I do wonder...

    Bike throttles pedal resistance

Broadly, if they're crank drive bikes or geared hub motors they should feel pretty much exactly the same as those bikes would feel if they were not e-Bikes. If they're gearless hub motors / motors with regen you'll feel drag and they'll likely be considerably harder to ride than they would be if...

    Kalkhoff Endeavour BS10 400Wh

I don't run lipo, hech - so in that sense the lord hath already had mercy on you all ;) It was bilabonic who suffered a slight mishap - it's all on his thread.

    A big ride

I'm with you on those feelings, Rob ! But that's possibly because I invariably get on my bike when it's not a necessity to get away from people and enjoy nature, not to seek others out :o. Great achievement completing the trip though - must require a different mindset to a solo ride I guess...

    Kalkhoff Endeavour BS10 400Wh

Good question. In Germany where they are legal and registerable I guess they'd be attractive to people wanting fast predominantly single-purpose shortish distance commuting bikes for use on the roads (the only place they're allowed to be ridden anyway). Seeing as many people with a fixed place...

    Kalkhoff Endeavour BS10 400Wh

Possibly ... although imho that 8Ah battery on a derestricted bike is as good as a waste of space and weight. 288Wh would just about get you 10 miles at push riding on steep hills or at high speed under higher assist levels and you'd probably have power sag towards the end of that short range...

    24s HT3525 Kraken Build

^^ OK. ... and a few kw of power in the wheels ? ;). Must admit when I looked at them they seem pretty much the perfect starting point for a high powered build - loads of in-frame volume and no fannying about trying to fit square pegs in round holes. No more expensive than a 2nd hand high-end...
