    Wattage whats it all about?

The stated wattage of the motor is merely its continuous rating. That is the power it can take for one hour without overheating. The power it actually takes is determined by what the controller is putting out. So AK is right, 924w max hot of the charger. It's unlikely that you'll use this...

    torque torque

I still maintain that a hub gives a less 'technical' ride style. You rotate the pedals, the power comes on - end of. A kit can be fitted then the gearing sorted once ride speed/style established. A rear hub + rack battery would be tail heavy. Probably not a problem for general road riding but...

    problems with Panda eBikes

I too have bought from Panda, no problems and very helpful, if I remember correctly, kit came within 3 days. It was, however, a purchase direct from Panda, not via E-Bay. Are you sure it's a genuine Panda offer?

    torque torque

What I get from all this is that a mid drive/crank drive is a more 'technical' ride than a hub drive. With a mid drive it is imperative to be in the right bike gear to allow the motor to do it's work without stalling or overheating. With a hub, like the SWX02, if you keep the road speed at or...

What are my rights with faulty e-bike?

Makes me glad I converted my own. At least I know where to look when problems occur. No, wait, I haven't had any.:D

What are my rights with faulty e-bike?

How are Halfords continuing to get away with selling this defective bike? Many have said about the easy reset, but really, on a new bike? Wouldn't buy it with someone else's money. Take it back mate. Get your money back and buy one from one of the suppliers on this forum. You'll get a...

    New Recruit

Hi Philip, welcome. I agree about the clothing, most lycra's seemed to go to extraordinary lengths to make themselves hard to see - then put a flashing light on the bike !

    Converting A BABBOE CARGO

OK so it looks like you've got hub gears. If that's right then it probably needs a mid drive motor. What the guys will need is a picture of the bottom bracket (where the pedals go through the frame) to see if it's possible. Also what make/type are the gears?

    Hi everyone

Generally speaking the DD motors are physically bigger and are rated 500w and above.

    Hi everyone

A 1000W motor is probably direct drive, good for high speed on the flat, not good for hill climbing. Geared hubs are the better option for hills/weight. Don't get hung up on the motor ratings. The wattage rating of the motor is merely it's continuous rating. i.e. the power it can take for (...

Kitting up for the first time

I'd think again about the G=Tec - no gears, ok if you live in the flat lands but on a hill in a November wind:( Have a look at this, it's cheaper even with the biggest battery: http://wooshbikes.co.uk/?karoo The nice folks at Woosh will help you choose the right one

Came off bike in most plonkerish way

Definitely get a mirror, I also use Mirrycle, very good. It seems that the geometry/head angle of modern hybrid bikes does cause oscillation, but this is when riding with no hands on bars. I'm guessing this isn't what you were doing.:) It's not a problem in normal riding. Tension is a problem...

    Hi everyone

Have a look at Woosh rear wheel BPM kit. Wife has a Big Bear with BPM front hub, it is a prodigious hill climber, very torqy. The Q128 has a lot of good press on here, for 21 gears I think it would be the Q128H. D8veh, elsewhere, has said that a Q128 36v run from a 48v battery is a very...
