    Display replacement problem!

Do the controller mosfet test via the three phase , all you need is a meter . Bike doesn't need power for the test all one is doing is checking the ohms or lack of them. From the pic the phase contacts look very accessible to probe. BlownMosfets.cdr (ebikes.ca) If you have a blown mosfet it...

Bafang reliability (my experience - OVERWHLMINGLY POSITIVE!)

The Tsdz lock/ nut is much the same as the BBS, I use the C spanner and used a couple of whacks with a hammer to torque it up. Not creaked or come undone at all.

I bought a job lot on aliexpress well before brexit so they were dirt cheap, BS01 Shimano type which are pretty much foundon alot of bikes that use obviously entry shimano line brakes as well as some tektro and clarkes brakes . Can't complain at the braking performance and have no issues with...

    Inter-bike charging

Yep , simple process of equalising voltages before connecting , charge to near same voltage . I have had no issue with 0.25v difference .

    Fitting A Tracking Device

Surprising how visually one can lose sight of these once line of sight is lost or are tree top hugging. Still have my lighter then air with basket stored in my garage , hasn't seen light of day for 24 years.

Bafang reliability (my experience - OVERWHLMINGLY POSITIVE!)

He's fallen in to the mid drive trap of believing all drive components need changing every 100 miles or once a week :p . One thing us proper hub drive users don't think of until at least 5k of riding and then it is only the brake pads that need changing, as it is said no one or few opt to...

    Advice for shallow dropouts

Nice drop outs one can easily take 4mm out of them to sit the axle lower, filing needs to be good and tight though then add a one piece custom torque arm to the LHS .

Pendleton Somerby - how to fix broken cables at rear hub

Needs a chain whip tool to remove ACW doing so, firmly holding the wheel. Freewheel is a screw on gear. If cable is damaged tight to the hollow axle then repair needs to be not a repair but complete motor cable renewel so means opening the hub to try and get the cable thru, not an easy job but...

    Pendalton e bike battery

Cells will take all day for each one with trickle charger . I use an old 5v phone charger for charging low cell groups via the BMS sense wire white connetor block at approx. 1a , it will take about 20 -40 mins on each cell to get them up to above 3.1v. Cut the charger jack off and solder an...

    250 motor repairs a month

One can use any 250w hub to get 2kw out of it , it will mean over volting and higher current of 35/40a but the important bit is modiffing it for cooling . It appears expensive but ferro fluid seems to be just the job. As I have mentioned before over 2k from a Bafang swxk 250w hub with ferro...

    Pendalton e bike battery

If all the ten cell groups are all at 2.7v then the BMS won't allow charging, 27v is too low for a 36v battery . Typically 30/ 31v is the lowest one might see. The BMS is seeing 27v as a fault and below LVC so one needs to manually raise the cell voltages to 31/32v at least, then the BMS...

    Cycle lane signs

There are some like that in my town but pedestrians are too stupid and thick to understand the separation so walk where they want. Some in my town with the split paths have a raised 3" upper side for pedestrians and the lower side forms a kerb for bikes so they don't stray in to pedestrians path...

    Greeting! I am new here

Your battery cost will likely be no cheaper then buying , one will need a good mini spot welder to carry out the welding of interconnectors . A good spot welder and powerful batteyr source to provide the high amps for the process will cost approx. £200 +, one can buy very cheap all in one spot...

    Greeting! I am new here

Why ? Unless you have a special need to use certain cell types/brand or need a batteyr to for design reasons then it is far cheaper to buy a battery.

    Electric bike malfunction. 36V

Well then if that translates as stated then #10 nails it. 36v is to low after powering on and will mean the battery is weak /knackered or out of balance if charged up.
