    Wanted THORN RESISTANT INNER TUBE

I have in 2.1" both big apples & smart sam pluses. This year I've done around 1000 miles on the apples, mostly road & byways with just one puncture. On the Sam pluses probably about 300 off road miles &. 6 punctures. As I try to join up sections of bridal way I invariably end up having to either...

    Wanted THORN RESISTANT INNER TUBE

Hi folks, I thought I'd ask on here if anyone knows a stockist of heavy duty tubes (29" X 2.1") I know there's no such thing as a puncture proof tube but I need something ! On a recent ride I picked up 3 punctures in two miles (canal towpath) I was about to order a pr of ......... MERRICK...

is it possible to use this lead acid battery with a conversion kit?

May be but have you thought about the weight & where your going to mount it. Lead acid, 17.6kg (4 X 4.4Kg) that's nearly 39 pounds or in pedelec terms a sh#t load You second choice, the lithium battery weighs 5.5Kg Personally, for a "first build" I'd be looking at a complete kit with all parts...

    NEC Bike Show this Saturday

OK, so the chain moves at a given speed from the motor sprocket, it then turns the large gear shown in your pic, the size of this gear dose not effect the speed of the chain only the speed at wich the smaler sprocket turns & moves the final drive chain. As the two sprockets shown must rotate at...

    NEC Bike Show this Saturday

From what I can see of the sprocket teeth in your pic, I recon there's a 22 tooth & 16 tooth. guesstimating a reduction of 0.7:1 To get a 3:1 reduction you'll need a 48 tooth sprocket along with the 16 tooth. I may be wrong but I do spend a lot of time with gears  As I build...

What do you carry in your repair kit?

I hope you came away uninjured Now that surprises me. I'll assume as you were on rough ground this grunt wasn't a Lycra clad power ranger, there normally the ignorant ones. I was out today and stopped several times to admire the views (& catch my breath) 3 times I was asked if I needed...

    Another Aldi Cycle Gear Day

I to have the Maplins insoles and use them with thick socks in a pr of clunky snow boots, they work fine for standing around whilst I'm attending my monthly RC Truck club. I did try the insoles and two socks in the shoes I use for cycling but they were far to tight, so it's new shoes for the...

    Another Aldi Cycle Gear Day

I spent this afternoon fruitlessly looking for shoes, grippy soles for flat peddles and stout enough to keep my toes warm this winter, (raynaud's disease) last year I put tinfoil over my socks before putting my shoes on  Anywho now I'm doubly disappointed seeing Aldi shoes sizes 8 to...

    Lockable Dust Caps?

I think valve tampering is quite rare and never seen as a "joke" if done at all it's malicious. I've had novelty caps stolen but no one has ever bent my stem, Should someone want to let your tyres down there just as likely to use drawing pins or a knife so lock on dust caps is no...

    Cadence

How dose that work out with my internally geared Bosch motored cube 29er running 2.1" big Apples. I tried working it out once but found it easier just to count for one minuet Along a straight bit of road. I'm sitting at about 75 rpm (average) even after 30/40 miles it's still about the same ;)

I'm beginning to hate (some) cyclists

I've tried to justify myself after receiving snide comments but as already mentioned, there's just not enough time. Recently after being told "that's cheating" I've taken to responding with, And Loving it. Its usually enough to rase a smile. Strangely, I was really peed off by the cheating...

    Slung seat post

I'll second vote the suntour seatpost. I've got the NEX version and it's the best cycling accessory I've brought, I even move it between two bikes and won't ride a bike without it.

Secret of panasonic hub climbing power

A sweeping statement there ;) I ride at my most efficient cadence and change gear to keep it there, that's close to my motors optimum rpm. This is not by design more a fortunate coincidence, my arthritis means I can't peddle slow & hard so after many years my legs now work best at around 70...

When you start looking there's quite a few out there, if you don't mind the post from HK. I brought this one for £5.80 and it took 15 days to arrive :) It dose exactly what it says on the tin, I can't fault it...
