Big Saving on Brand New Haibike FS SL Electric bike on eBay..

£2500 really isnt that expensive, a pedal powered version of that bike would be £1800, it's made for serious off-road riding. Even for the road, you can pay WAY more than that for bikes: BMC Teammachine SLR01 Dura Ace Di2 2014 Road Bike | Evans Cycles Used cars arent a good comparison...

    Kudos cobra

Hi, welcome to the site. I've tried the Arriba and I liked it a lot. Looks like the same frame but a more basic 8fun motor, they're well proven motors and I'm sure it will be a good bike for the money. Kudos are on the forum, so they will be able to advise you more.

Sometimes it is, usually on pushbikes it is, although usually on motorcycles and cars it's movement between the pad and piston. Copper slip is a metallic grease, usually used as an anti-seize compound for automotive bolts.

    Wonderful Whitfield Welcome....to all cyclists

A lovely part of the country, i know the A686 well, riding my motorbike up there is always a great day out. Add a "Bikers Welcome" for them and you'll do particularly well in that location. A fat biker sized full English breakfast will help too! Good luck.

    ~Is 15 MPH enough? Discuss

Yet a full car license grants the right to ride a 50cc moped without any further test, yet not an S-pedelec with similar or slightly lesser performance. insurance, if the class was recognised would be almost a non-issue for most adults as it would be extremely cheap in the scheme of things...

    hydrolic brakes

If you have metal pistons that will help, but most bicycle disc brakes use composite plastic pistons, so copper grease wouldn't have any effect. I do use that technique on my motorbike though.

    Ride on Xipi 1500 watt

It didn't look quite as bad as a lot of people are making out to me, yes, he shouldn't have been on the pavement. The overtake however looked fine. There's a lot more irresponsible riders out there on normal bikes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=woVBLf8Yv2g

    ~Is 15 MPH enough? Discuss

I feel it's a little low, but i am a full motorcycle license holder and perhaps that's influencing me. I wouldn't be offended by some sort of licensing for faster ebikes such as in Germany. That would suit me down to the ground. My last motorbike was good for almost 200mph, i never got near it...

    first electric bike

Test rides, it's well worth travelling to get them. Otherwise you risk buying something you don't like. I've tested a lot of bikes recently, taking two 100 miles trips in the car to do so, but it's been well worth it.

    hydrolic brakes

No, they should self adjust. They may rub a little at first, but after a ride they should be fine.

    hydrolic brakes

Yes, time for new pads, when you put them in, re-align the caliper as per d8veh's instructions and you should be fine, as the new pads will be completely flat.

    hydrolic brakes

Also worth noting that you can get juddering if the rotor is bent.

    hydrolic brakes

d8veh is correct, they should never really judder. Squeaking cant be stopped, but they should be smooth.
