    Motor problems

My bike has just developed a strange issue, thought it was the halls but now not sure. Upon startup it will sometimes display E007 which stands for "motor breakdown". When this happens the motor "sticks" and makes a car ignition sort of noise. If I nurse it in on low power it will start running...

Cheapest source for kt controller and display

This is how my Carrera originally worked with the torque sensor setup range on eco was phenomenal given the battery size

Cheapest source for kt controller and display

I meant does the pedal assist settings also do this, so you get full speed on any level just reduced torque? That's what I heard somewhere and would like that sort of limiting as it's more practical than simply reducing speed to save battery

Cheapest source for kt controller and display

Ah, so do the sine wave ones still limit the power via current with the past settings because that's what I'm after

Cheapest source for kt controller and display

As the title suggests I am looking for the cheapest source of kt torque simulation controller and screen. So far pswpower comes out on top, either shipping is expensive or price too high elsewhere

Will a legal hub benefit from more amps?

Not sure on that one. On the suntour system it would cut at 17mph and could easily reach that even when near empty. Due to the difference in voltage I knew it was capable of more. That said I have no doubt there are faster winding codes but the torque may suffer unless amps are increased. I can...

Will a legal hub benefit from more amps?

Yeah mine will do that with some serious Welly on the cranks. The wind and cold are probably not helping, or maybe my expectations were a little too high. It's still great

Will a legal hub benefit from more amps?

Sounds good. Like I say I'm pretty happy with what I have, it manages 24/25mph on a flat road hot off the charger. Nominal is closer to 20mph, but can do a lot more with a little push or hill. At least I know what to get if I get bored or melt my hub o_O

Will a legal hub benefit from more amps?

Very informative, thanks. I am pretty satisfied with what I have now anyway, however I may upgrade the hub in time, or maybe even a mid drive. What hub motor would be a good upgrade?

Will a legal hub benefit from more amps?

I have already overvolted my suntour hub and noticed some gains, it's a lot faster however to actually get the extra speed one needs to pedal more or be on a slight downhill. I suspect torque is the main issue, it pulls around 15 amps, the display has option to increase amps up to 20 but this...

Overvolted Carrera e spec is a monster!

No thanks, the last time I tried that I shorted the controller and melted a hole through it lol

Overvolted Carrera e spec is a monster!

A while ago I modded my Carrera Vulcan by ditching the suntour controller for a derestricted generic one, this improved the bike quite a bit as I had a throttle and got full assistance when I wanted it. Since my controller is dual voltage and I was struggling with range in these colder months I...

    Improving my hall wires

Job done and it's looking a lot tidier in there. Just need to get a bodged connector replaced and I'm set :)

    Hailong battery mounting issue

Now up and running, wow 48v is a blast! Didn't realise how powerful it would actually be, I have to actually concentrate when I ride now

    Improving my hall wires

I'm not happy with the state of my halls, think I'm going to solder some extra length to them and redo the connectors, then heatshrink the whole bunch together so if they get yanked they get pulled together as I'm sick of juddery connection issues. Anything else I can do to make them more reliable?

    DIY controller housing?

That's the box coming from China, just got it in a frame bag for now. It's only a 13a controller (pulls 16a according to screen though) so shouldn't go into meltdown that easy. Besides it got hot enough in the phlyion box to melt my bullets closed and still works fine

    Hailong battery mounting issue

Thanks, I've mounted it using the original hole at the top and then drilled the metal housing where the wiring is at the bottom as the Vulcan has 3 screws the length of the original battery. I have used the top and bottom which give an even load, can't really do the middle as it's plastic and...

    Hailong battery mounting issue

Decided to drill the battery cradle through the metal part, should work

    Hailong battery mounting issue

I am about to install a hailong battery on my modder Vulcan e spec, it has 3 custom mount holes I was just going to use 2 of them. What I didn't realise is they are spaced wider than normal bottle holder holes and it won't quite fit. Am I going to have to drill the frame or is there an easier way?

    DIY controller housing?

Thanks, any other ideas? It needs to sit near the bottom bracket as the wiring is fairly short
