    It's getting slippy out there

Had a few front skiddys on all the wet leaves, mud, moss and general misery that the current weather is bringing, fortunately I remained calm and put downward pressure on the outside of the corner to recover in all instances. Also even my full coverage mudguards did not stop me from having a...

    Cost co Electric Bike

The battery capacity is pretty low, I wouldn't bother based on that. Bit of a letdown as the actual design is great with those integrated lights. I'd get something with an external battery on the downturn as they generally hold a bit more charge and can be upgraded fairly easily. I'd probably...

My handlebar thingy like this one, speed?

Sorry I bit a little hard, needed coffee... Anyway it's pretty small and fits in the Carrera box which is also rather cramped so it should do, if I remember right it might be a tiny bit wider but more or less the same size. In my particular motor the black and the white (which is the usual speed...

    Good crimpers?

For those motorbike style connectors like you get with the hall wires, W shape. Also normal ones for bullets

    Good crimpers?

After having mare redoing some connections I realise my crimpers are bloody useless. Anyone recommend a good one?

My handlebar thingy like this one, speed?

Michael, I have already explained what you can do. You can install a throttle, that will run unrestricted. Or you can change the controller for the one I mentioned in the other thread. These are the only ways to derestrict your bike Edit: I see you are looking into another controller, I can...

Chinese controller - how to derestrict it?

I doubt it as it doesn't take an LCD to configure it. I think it's setup so for the US market where throttle and higher speed is allowed it will do it's full speed on a throttle, in the EU they just leave the throttle off as the pedal assist is restricted. If you want more options one of these...

Chinese controller - how to derestrict it?

If you attach a throttle these will happily chug along at the motors max speed

    Shunt mod gains

I've chucked it. Basically a bit dripped onto the base of the shunt that I didn't see and it shorted out against some tiny component that was under it, melting a hole though the board

    Shunt mod gains

I've just went for the same one because it's cheap and can take a 48v. If I decided to mod the shunt is there any way I can guard from this happening again? Something to catch any drip? More likely after this experience I'll just wait until I can get a 48v battery

    WANTED 36/48v contoller and display

In need of a small controller, preferably dual voltage as I plan to upgrade to 48v eventually

    Shunt mod gains

I think 20 amp would trip the BMS. I only wanted to go like 15/16. Saying that some are configurable. I also need it to be pretty small. Have a basic spare without display that has thankfully fired up once I figured the wiring so at least I have power...

    Shunt mod gains

Doesn't matter, I already tried it and it went boom! :D On closer inspection looks like a rogue blob dropped down and shorted the whole thing out, oops! :D:D:D

    Shunt mod gains

My controller is 13 amps, I believe my battery is rated 19 amos. Is there much to be gained from soldering the shunt or is it marginal difference?

    Dogshit proof mudguards

That's the kind I mean yes, does it cover the back of the wheel properly as most don't. I have a zefal one that covers all this but doesn't stop the spray past the fork. Might just cover that part with one of those cable tie ones I suppose

    Dogshit proof mudguards

Have finally said enough is enough and put a full fender on the back. My fork doesn't have mounting points for a front one though, is there an "in the steerer" type with this kind of coverage?

    36v Vs 48v

You forgot laziness and towing, both of which are me ;) also I think a lot of vendors were lead to believe that 36v was the max legal, which I've since heard isn't true as long as it stays below the speed limit

    36v Vs 48v

Thanks for that. It's advertised at 50nm torque on halfords

    36v Vs 48v

Couldn't say for sure as the Speedo is wrong, haven't had a chance to calibrate it. It's around 20mph I would say though give or take 1
