It's my modified Carrera Vulcan, I have a dual voltage controller in there already. How do I tell if it would benefit from extra voltage? It's a bigger motor with sturdy wiring so I'm sure it can take it but if it's not wound for it well... There are no winding codes on the casing.

It will work, white wire is for speed reading, although it can probably still read the speed from the hall sensor. I think Pas is red black blue and throttle is red black white on mine. It will run without brake sensor but if it's anything like mine don't switch it on tell you're on it because...

Oh and you will need a new crankset as a standard Pas disk will not fit between the suntour chainring. Alternatively there is a torque sensor type that goes in the bottom bracket, not sure what they are like

You unscrew the box under the battery, the controller is in here. There should be a 3 wire plug with nothing plugged in, the throttle goes in there. It should run derestricted on throttle or at least mine did. You can find a 3 wire throttle on eBay for pennies, just check it has a connector...
