    Cyclamatic power plus E bike

Chain on the front chainring slipped off the teeth perhaps, resulting in comical spinning of pedals with no drive to the chain

    Cyclamatic power plus E bike

Long time since I had a Cyclamatic, but it could either be the gear cluster freewheel pawls have broken, or the side of the motor casing on the gear side has fractured. It's not the easiest of hub motors to remove, due to the servo brake, but worth doing to get to the root of the problem...

    Cyclamatic power plus E bike

Could be either the freewheel mechanism in the actual motor itself. Does it sound like the motor is spinning too, when you rotate the wheel backwards and forwards with the power off? Or, the servo brake could be seizing on, or the cable sticking. Undo the nut at point 2 to release the cable...

    New bird.

As much as I enjoy riding electric bikes, I would never ever ever pay 300 quid for a pair of cycling shoes. Even if I won the lottery... It would be a principal thing. Bet you've got a few pairs of those in your boudoir tho soundwave :D

I don't think you need to spend anywhere near £3k, to get something that's well built and reliable. Take a look at the range from Oxygen. They are a well established company, and appear to have a pretty good warranty. A decent warranty and good after-sales is worth it's weight in gold ;)...

    Battery pack cell balancing

Thanks for your replies Daniel and Alan. Just one more question. Would a pack, even with all good cells, eventually go out of balance through normal discharge and charge use, and would it be a good idea to charge it for a couple of days, say every six months?

    Battery pack cell balancing

So the charger will charge the fuller cells until a certain level, then the BMS discharges them slowly until the less full cells catch up. Have I got that right?

    Battery pack cell balancing

I have read in many posts on this site and others, that if you suspect some cells to be out of balance with the others, then it's best leave the pack on charge for a long time. Some say as long as a few days. I was just wondering why a BMS takes so long to balance individual cells? A layman's...

How's the Alfine 8 IGH coping with the torque from the Bafang? Have always wanted to dabble in a low maintenance gear solution, but wasn't sure if IGH's could cope with the Bafang's power.

    New chain Krieger

Since replacing my factory original chain with one of higher spec, I have noticed I can now change gear under high torque with less clatter. I had to use the brake cut-off technique to change gear before, otherwise it sounded like my derailleur would explode. Just goes to show that forking out...
