Gaadi double ended inner tubes available from your local dealer

Fine for long term use, as far as I can gather. I've not had to deploy mine, but a member on here posted a while ago about using GAADI tubes all the time with no problems. The problem with previous snake tube designs was the overlapping 'join' which could rub inside the tyre in use and...

    Bosch Dongle Options

The Badass dongle works a treat, it is fit and forget. Fitting, as per the website, is clip-on and only takes a few seconds. You may have to move the spoke magnet, I didn't need to. The dongle allows the motor to whirr on above 15.5mph. You cannot get something for nothing, so if you spend a...

    3 gears and 7 gears?

Very few people are interested in bicycles for their own sake in the way that you and me are. For many users, 'only' three gears is a benefit because there's less to think about and mess around with, allowing them to concentrate on riding. Ditto hub gears over dearailleurs. Ditto twist shift...

    Regenerative Braking.

The battery life indicator on my Bosch bikes is hardly laboratory quality, but I've never seen it go back up after short period of heavy load or at any other time.

    3 gears and 7 gears?

Gear range is important, not number. I'm not familiar with the Shimano three speed, but I'm sure it will have as good a range as the Sturmey one. That's plenty wide enough, particularly on an ebike, particularly for use in 'relatively flat' conditions, particularly for an older cyclist who is...

    New Bosch Coming!

If you are changing to full sus anyway, it would be worth trying a Bosch. They do ride slightly differently, the Bosch being a bit smoother and more refined. The Yamaha motor is probably on a par with a Bosch, possibly the Performance version. I've not tried a CX, but the Performance has...

Anyone got a Raleigh Motus ?

I think Mike meant the dealer didn't have one in stock and doesn't intend to get any. Common enough situation, as you know.

Can electrifying a bike be this easy?

I used to think there was a tiny bit of drag on my Bosch bikes. But after further unpowered trials, I've decided there is none. As John says, you will always feel the 20kg+ weight of the bike.

    3 gears and 7 gears?

Sounds like the three-speed D Cycle would suit you. Decent bikes, and there are some good offers on them at the moment.

Anyone got a Raleigh Motus ?

Some of the Bosch drive Raleigh ebikes are badged as Kalkhoffs in Germany, but as you say the OP wants to buy locally.

Anyone got a Raleigh Motus ?

I had a go on a Motus and liked it. Comfy, slightly swept back handlebars. The narrowish tyres made it feel quite quick. Having said that, there are lots of Bosch powered hybrids which will all ride similarly.

help - I've "broken" my bike

You could, although a bit of folded cereal packet is simpler. I have the Magura Transport Device, which came with the Rose. Apparently, it's also a pad wear gauge although I've never worked out how that functions. It's the yellow plastic part in this link...

Wish i could have helped a little more :(

So would I, but there are practical difficulties in questioning a copper in this way. A skilled one will goad you into a public order offence, or reasonable suspicion of one. A raised voice, narky attitude, or inappropriate gesture will do it, particularly after the officer embellishes his...

    New Bosch Coming!

The price was in one of the Bosch press releases for the 2016 motor. As said, it was 750 or 800 euro.

help - I've "broken" my bike

A plastic tyre lever will separate closed pads. You might think it's not thin enough, but the rounded end suitably aimed does a good job of easing the pads apart with no risk of damage.

Wish i could have helped a little more :(

A favourite excuse from court defendants is: "I was helping a mate fit a carpet and forgot the knife was in my pocket." As has been said, the charge is carrying a bladed article 'without lawful consent or reasonable excuse'. That's open to interpretation, so what's required is common sense...

How many people are using there e-bike off-road?

I bet it would be stringy.

New tube not needing removing wheel

I've carried a Gaadi on the Rose for a couple of years, but have not had to deploy it. The bike is crank drive, but the Alfine hub gear makes removing the rear wheel a faff. Early snake tubes overlapped, which caused problems because friction at the join could lead to failure. The Gaddi is...

advise on mid drive full suss mountain bike.

I saw a couple of Treks in a bike shop in York. Looked well, as you say, but then so do the KTMs and the Cubes, so it's a hard choice. Or an easy one - all quality bikes so you wouldn't go far wrong with any of them. Stromer is a BMC brand. The ST1 is a hub drive roadster, but I suppose they...

advise on mid drive full suss mountain bike.

Trek's full sus ebike has a frame designed for the job. I suppose they would say that, but the reviewers like it. http://www.mtb-mag.com/en/first-ride-trek-powerfly-fs9-ebike/ There's also lots of Cubes: http://www.cube.eu/uk/bikes/hybrid/stereo-hybrid/
