I think my local bike shop still has a couple, but I doubt the owner would take £550 for one.

    Help please need advice

I believe Ezee bikes only come with their own motor. But don't get too hung up on watt ratings, they often don't mean a great deal. The Ezee motor is known to be pokey and has the benefit of being stamped as road legal. Of course, the guy to ask is Cyclezee in the UK. He posts on here and is...

I currently have an Ezee Torq, Mk1 looking to replace

No problems with chains unshipping on factory made crank bikes. Lots of choice if you go for a Bosch motored bike. Also some bikes with a Yamaha motor, and there's always Kalkhoffs which have their own Impulse system.

Bike ordered: Kudos Arriba. Child seat required!

Very personal things, saddles, but if you are thinking of Brooks there are cheaper 'copies' that seem to offer the same benefits. Juicy Bikes sell one, as do Spa Cycles in Harrogate who offer a range. I tried one of the Spa ones on a Spa bike and liked it. But as I say, saddles are a very...

    Help please need advice

Big motors and big batteries are rare on folders. The nearest spec ready made bike I can think of is the Volt Metro, which has the option of a 16ah battery. Building your own might work, but mounting 20ah of battery on a folder will not be easy. Carrying a spare battery to give the capacity...

Dave, The bikes are being knocked out to the trade at 500 quid a pop provided you take a few, so in this case the retailer is content to turn one over for £50. I don't think the wholesaler is desperate to clear, but that need not concern the OP. The bike is appropriate for the OP's needs and...

    FREE Heinzmann, slightly imperfect.

Kind - and sensible - offer on the old bike, and a nice new bike. R&M bikes are top notch, as is the Bosch system. You also have dealer support, not that I expect you will need it. Good job all round.

    Which Kudos?

It's a bicycle, there is always a snag or two with any modification. But there is always a way around it.

    Woosh Aftersales

Always good to give a company a deserved pat on the back. But it seems to me woosh aftersales has rather too many opportunities to demonstrate its effectiveness. I've raised this point with Hatti, suggesting a 'woosh plus' range with slightly better components and, more importantly, better...

    It has to be fast!

If you really must do 30mph, buy the moped.

    Which Kudos?

You need to have a think about mounting the child seat. Some types make use of the seat tube. The Tornado has a plastic box fixed to its seat tube - the motor controller - which may be in the way of a child seat.

D Cycles were pretty good for about £1,000, so £550 is a good price. The bike should do what you ask of it. No point in spending any more as you are not interested in electric bikes as a hobby. The D Cycle should be noticeably better than your old Cyclomatic. It should be reliable, being a...

Decent rear hub bike which is a cut above some of the stuff direct from China. The wholesaler has been knocking these out very cheap to the trade, so £549 seems about right as 'clearance' price. I can't think of anything better for that sort of money.

    Bosch range indication

Same here, I've never bothered with the range indicator. Having done a lot of miles on Bosch bikes, I pretty much know what the range will be taking into account the conditions of the ride and how lazy I'm feeling.

Alfine 11 robust enough for a 36v Panasonic 250w Mid Motor?

The Alfine 11 on my Rose/Bosch bike failed which I suspect had something to do with the crank drive. When my bike was built, Bosch limited the maximum assist on the motor to 200 per cent - derailleur bikes had 250 per cent. That tells you something. I've had no problems since the hub was...

London cyclist with a 12 mile commute

Nothing wrong with a KTM/Bosch bike. They are also a good ownership prospect because KTM have dealers and service back up. The Macina is a mountain bike, which seems an odd choice for a commuter. No doubt KTM will have something in a more trekking style, with a rack, mudguards and probably a...

    This arrived today :)

Leaving aside the always disputable figures, Eddie is showing the benefit of a quality crank drive bike and a light and fit rider. It is a very powerful combination.

    Help!..Ave MH7 v Kalkhoff Sahel Compact v blueLABEL PONY?

Dave, You need to ask yourself why a bicycle had cart wheels in the first place. Gearing and rolling resistance is about the strength of it. Gearing can now be sorted for smaller wheels, although you will be aware there are still complaints of some small wheel bikes being under geared...

    I came, I saw, I want one!

The rim acting as a big disc is a very good point. Decent V-brakes properly mounted provide plenty of stopping power. Longer drop Vs have more leverage, and the legs themselves need to be rigid - some of the cheaper ones flex. Against that is rim wear, and if the wheel goes slightly out of...
