    Child/Cargo Carrying Bikes? Any?

True, true, its just that it would be very handy if one lived somewhere with limited space and the Tern Node kept the main frame hinge, etc. Some allow bike to be stood on end! Mikel

    Child/Cargo Carrying Bikes? Any?

WorkCycles FR8 is getting there, other makers could learn a lot, but still doesn't fold. "Call re electric option", usually means "if you have to ask, you can't afford it". Hehe. (approx $6000+) Mikel

    Child/Cargo Carrying Bikes? Any?

"The very long wheelbase and seat position over the rear wheel gives it a bit of an oil tanker feel..need a garage to park it". Nice bit of kit tho. Mikel

    Child/Cargo Carrying Bikes? Any?

Tern GSD, lovely, but they take the frame hinge OUT and make it £4000! Yeah, haha! http://www.fullycharged.com/Tern-GSD-eCargo-2018 Mikel

    Wireless battery charging for e-Bikes

I didn't know there were so many self-docking, self-charging and in some cases self-emptying robo-vacuums and robo-lawnmowers! Electric bike makers had better wake up? Hehe  Mikel

    Pendleton

Website says £750 now, must've let some go cheap & then woke up:(. Rack is bolted on frame, so can be changed. Unfortunately Seat tube looks unsuitable for children's seats. Mikel

    Child/Cargo Carrying Bikes? Any?

Have any of the bike providers on this site got any real child/cargo carrying bikes or bike adaptions pls? Did a search but nothing more recent than 2015 came up, and seemed to draw a blank. Do providers think of fitting a seat with the std 40mm clamp when they spec these flared tubes? Could the...

How does that rack work? No visible means of support

Yeah, load her up, really need a cheaper version of the Tern GSD for serious cargo. But the Woosh Gale design of bike can carry quite a lot. Mikel

    Puncture proofing tyres

Ive used 'Slime', the green stuff a couple of times. Kept a Brompton tyre up for a year. When it finally failed I found 6 holes in d tube. Now its a 20in tube in a Kenda as a precaution, with half the old tube outside it as a 1mm buffer, and had it go soft a couple of times. Possible punctures...

Is this the begining of the rise of the Machines?

Sony selling "re-released Aibo off the leash" in Japan. But its 'AI' comes from leased internet link to Sony's servers. So it is on a web leash, like all this Internet Of Things stuff. And it will eavesdr.., sorry, 'listen' to owners conversation, to 'collect data'. Oh dear :-( Mikel

    Wired bike lights

12-80v lights, thanks d8veh, I'll have a look. Tried Amazon but the sellers didn't deliver to Ireland. So i opted for Nestling 7x cree with separate li-ion, its a pain to keep taking batt off to recharge but v.bright for dark country roads. Mikel

    Wired bike lights

Like to have wired lights, the 790 display has a 'Light' switch, but not sure how one hooks up to it, connect a relay on somewhere, i suppose. Someone suggested just using 3x 12v lights in series on 36v batt. Or one could hook up the ES suggested modules to it with dc-dc buck, opto relay, etc...

D'you mean like the anecdotal Advert AI that popped up an ad for toasted muffins over the story of a fatal bakery accident (oops, i mean incident). Mikel

Is this the begining of the rise of the Machines?

Not wanting to be a Luddite, but maybe Ned had a point in 1811. Change is good, but it has to be managed *socially*. Such technology can increase income inequality if there is insufficient wealth redistribution. An Air France Airbus crashed in 2009 because sensors froze, the autopilot couldn't...
