Mopeds, thought i read somewhere that they could only be run for 30min at a time @ 30mph=15miles. Or was that only 2strokes? Does that battery calc go: 29miles × n wh/m = total wh + (total × 0.25) = grand total wh, maybe? Anyway? 1kwh+ of battery would be great :cool: V.interested in question...

Have been running the bike around on what apparently is its 3rd battery and 2nd charger. But guess what, it still won't take a charge! So after tens of hours of a green light on the Sans charger I've returned the charger and battery to the dealer for the 4th time. More than disappointing...

Forgot to mention, the label on the bottom of the 'Sans' brand charger said it is a 3A charger, I seem to remember. If this makes any difference. Cheers Mikel

Thanks to nealh and vfr400 for their answers. The battery and charger were returned to dealer under warranty, for a third time, and a new battery is said to be on the way. So hopefully that'll be the cure. It'd be interesting to know what kept happening though, out of curiosity. Thanks to Wisper...

After 4.5hrs+ more 'charging' the battery is still at 35.1v. So I have not been able to get this charger to charge this battery after 3+3+3+4.5 hours of trying. Don't know what else to try. Does Wisper have a solution please? Thanks. Mikel Edit: Oops again, 35.1 not 31.5v, tsk2!

Ah, it was a Pashley, not a Raleigh, that had Bafang BBS conversion. He dispensed with the chaincase, and it appears to have front hub brake, rear coaster brake, with the battery under front basket on carrier.

You're right, new v-brakes on a new touring fork would require a motor wheel with rim braking surfaces, which they have. Ready made alloy motor wheel kit rims tend to come in black i find. To match and stay original both would have to be custom built with polished alloy or chrome or stainless...

Thanks for the advice, hadn't thought to count the spokes. Had considered 'easy option' of a 700c front motor wheel, albeit black & silver alloy, and 'touring' fork with v-brake mountings for my other DL-1 which is rougher than this one, and therefore ok to mod. But then front motor wheel...
