Cree bike light 18650 battery compatible?

The charger will monitor the voltage when charging, but I don't think the Cree light will cut the voltage at a certain point, so I'll take your advice. Will get Samsung or Panasonic though, just for extra piece of mind :) The reason I'm a bit edgy about this subject, is that recently I went to...

Cree bike light 18650 battery compatible?

So, any thoughts on whether to use protected or unprotected cells? I'm gonna pull the trigger on this charger, as it gets good reviews, plus I love tech gadgets: Xtar VC2 Plus Battery Charger I'm thinking unprotected, as a protected cell would probably cut off suddenly when it reaches the BMS...

Cree bike light 18650 battery compatible?

The more I research, the more I'm convinced an 18650 battery can be used. Would there be any advantage to using an 18650, instead of 3 x AAA's? Also, is a protected battery better than non protected? Any decent brands out there. Heard horror stories about Ultrafire?

Cree bike light 18650 battery compatible?

Bought a pair of Cree bike lights that both come with an AAA battery holder shown in pictures. I'm sure I've seen these lights where you can interchange between AAA's and a single 18650, so can anyone tell me if I can just use an 18650 battery instead of the holder?

    spoke attachement seems rather odd

I'm no expert, but the gaps might be there for a little flex in the wheel/spokes. If they were rigidly in the motor casing, it might lead to stress breakages. Contact EBC anyway and see what they say. Ask them to send a few replacement spokes too. Don't try to modify that longer one.

    spoke attachement seems rather odd

To solve the tightening problem, just buy a 5.5mm open ended spanner. Google it and it should bring up some places to buy one. If you're concerned about the nuts loosening, then you could loctite them. Is the wheel not double rimmed?

Was writing when you posted that piccy of the spokes. Mmmmmm, haven't seen spokes attached like that at the motor end before. I should imagine the procedure is the same though. Check that the nuts are tight after riding a few miles and also at rim end.

The motor is fairly large in diameter, so the spokes will be at a greater angle than spoke on a regular bike. After a few miles riding, check and adjust spoke tension with a spoke key. Chinese hub motor spokes are rarely tightened properly at source.

Use key to unlock battery, then slide the battery along the docking station, away from the power cable end.

I'll start the ball rolling with.... The Nutri Ninja  Yes, it has a terrible name, and the advertising is pretty laughable, but it has been an excellent bit of kit. I use it two or three times a day to make nutritious shakes or breakfast porridge. Means I can get loads of vitamins...

13Ah is the capacity of the battery and is not relevant in how much power the motor puts out. To find out the maximum power of a set-up, you need to multiple the maximum current that the controller provides, by the voltage of the battery. For example, if the controller has a maximum of 10 amps...

You won't notice the missing 2 cogs, believe me ;) The 10.5kg may be the quote for all the components, including LCD display, battery, controller, torque arms and motor. Once installed, the bike will be obviously heavier than the stock bike, but may be fairly well balanced, due to the battery...
