Anyone building a Bafang BBSHD 1000W bike soon?

Paul's a good bloke to buy from. Here's some stock settings that he usually ships the units with: http://electric-fatbike.com/2015/06/26/a-hackers-guide-to-programming-the-bbs02/ Note the ' Keep Current ' set at 60%, so you won't be getting all the oomph when using PAS modes. I changed mine...

Anyone building a Bafang BBSHD 1000W bike soon?

Yep, 42T is the way to go. The improved chainline helps too. Just out of interest, was yours programmed by the vendor, or have you tinkered with the programming yourself?

Anyone building a Bafang BBSHD 1000W bike soon?

The phrase 'greased lightning' springs to mind :D I can't see the point of the BBSHD, as the BBS02 48v 25A climbs just about anything. Many people use the BBS02 with stock factory settings, and don't realise that they are limited to just over half the available power. I've reprogrammed mine...

Anyone building a Bafang BBSHD 1000W bike soon?

Anyone planning on building a bike using the Bafang BBSHD motor soon? Judging by the amount of torque this beasty puts out, a high quality bike with a strong drivetrain will be needed.

    More than a lucky escape.

Nah, bet he rode home. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, as they say lol

Does anyone use a torque wrench on their bike religiously?

Yep, do that every time I put it away. It suggests doing this in the supplied instructions too.

Does anyone use a torque wrench on their bike religiously?

I only use my torque wrench to tighten the crank arm bolts, and tighten everything else by feel. Does anyone use a torque wrench to tighten all the nuts and bolts on their bike? I'm just wondering if there would be fewer creaks and rattles if everything was correctly torqued, and whether...

    speed versus effort ?

Oldgitst, have a little play with this motor simulator tool. http://www.ebikes.ca/tools/simulator.html As you change different parameters, you can actively see how they may affect how the bike performs on the road.

    speed versus effort ?

That's true, but it can also depend on how much current the motor receives, motor winding, battery voltage etc... If for example you had a rear hub motored bike, coupled with a 48v battery, 50 amp controller and speed limited to 15.5mph. Then due to the massive amount of torque/power available...

Threads like this crack me up :)

Yes, solar panels integrate nicely on a recumbent. I think the guy in the thread has a normal bike. Not such an easy task. I'd love to ride a recumbent here in UK, but with all the trucks and road ragers, wouldn't expect a long life cycle. Sorry, that was a poor attempt at a joke :)

    speed versus effort ?

Is this bike front/rear hub motor driven or crank/central drive type? I'll let someone else answer this one, but each type will affect what answer you get ;)
