    Pedelec Police

I'm afraid any new duties for the police which don't involve chasing terrorists or paedophiles are a nonstarter- budgets are very squeezed and that's even before the true, massive cuts kick in.

Accessibility of Cycle Paths and Trails

In North London some of the 'airlock' style swing gates aren't capacious enough for a bicycle to get through so you're into heavy lifting.

    HEAD PROTECTION

Hit my head on a hanging basket this week, and some branches, and two months earlier on a low-hanging building. The difference was this week I was wearing a helmet and so didn't get a month's concussion and stitches! Result [emoji5]

    HEAD PROTECTION

Well I hit my head on a hanging basket and some branches in the last week but was wearing a helmet with a baseball cap underneath, so didn't get injured. So thank **** for head protection I say.

Headlight flashing in regular pattern - why?

Thanks D8veh, what you recommended may have worked: touch wood it seems alright now. I'm glad it's not some signal of the ebike equivalent of a blown head gasket or something.

Headlight flashing in regular pattern - why?

Does anyone know what might have caused my bike to do this last night when it was hot and humid in London? It doesn't feel safe because the light is off for nearly a second on every flash, then on again for a second, repeat continuously. It's a self build with this setup...

    Pedelec Insurance Options Please

Cycleguard seem good! I'm with them. Check the lock requirements though. And smallprint obviously. I couldn't understand your reasoning earlier as those sound like reasons to take rather than reject a policy (apart from that of 'horrendous' cost).

So hot that my controller stopped working

Could that explain my difficulties today too? My headlight was flashing for no clear reason, and at one point the motor gave full throttle with no input and I had to switch everything off.

The first rule of Retail Club is don't try and fix it yourself, speak to the retailer (in your most charming voice)!

    Electric foldable for tall person

You would have to buy a Montague bike in the UK, new or used, and convert it to electric yourself, using a kit or appropriate parts which you had sourced yourself. There are ebike mechanics who would be able to convert it for you, it's normally £100.

    Electric foldable for tall person

I'm 6 foot 5 and will be attempting this conversion with a used Montague: http://www.nycewheels.com/montague-crosstown-bionx-electric-bike.html#tabs using a Bafang CST 180mm rear motor and an 09-type bottle battery from Eclipse (Woosh sell them too). An Oxydrive kit would do it, any conversion...

    Computer Scammers

My mother had what you had yesterday. Anyone this happens to, needs to make sure they've not got the same passwords for their PayPal, Apple ID, Amazon accounts etc + their social media, because the main purpose of all this isn't to access your email, it's because most people have the same...

    Fun2Ride = thieving scum

You are not required to pay for the return of faulty goods. Yes small claims is tiresome-you need to do instead a chargeback through your card provider,or if that fails and you paid by credit card and it was over £100, a s75 claim against your card provider (just ring them up and say that's what...

Smog and breathing issues - what protection to use?

I discovered a sort of solution today, to smog, albeit not pollen, sorry :-( This app is a cycle satnav, which lets me choose four different types of route: fastest, shortest, balanced or 'quietest', quietest meaning least smog. It's 30% longer than the other routes but I can breathe better, a...

Smog and breathing issues - what protection to use?

Thanks Trex, I have the respro techno actually but it hurts my nose! It's the metal clip. I gather the filter is FFP1 rather than the recommended FFP2 minimum rating for city diesel.

Smog and breathing issues - what protection to use?

I quite like the look of this one, it looks practical, you could get a helmet underneath.
