Just a thought on a hot topic

Cold doesn't affect storage only charging does , so charging needs to be above freezing in ambient temps . Likewise best to not charge or store in a hot place or near a hot radiator, that said some keep them in the airing cupboard so they don't get a sniffle.

    Battery upgrade

Always double check the polarity , it is a simple check to save a larger headache. Also the charge time required will be somewhat much longer , 8.5 - 9hrs or so for a empty battery.

    BBC and battery regulation

CANbus and regulation won't stop fires , just look at the e-cars that go up in flames. They are highly regulated.

True a wheel. Bike shop or DIY?

A good few years ago I had to imporvise to true my front wheel by standing on it and jumping up and down . Along a grassy offroad trail I hit a hole/rut most likely a bunny hole and went over the bars , the rim got jammed and bent pretty well badly . I did managed to stomp on it to get it...

Losing power Freego Wren - Advice please

Count the magnets and get a replacement from ebay. Look for PAS sensor magnet disc, you may have to buy the sensor as well but you don't have to use it . Keep it as a spare in case ever you need it. This is a 12 pole magnet disc , this type simply grips the square taper axle using the...

9 pin motor connector..... need new controller. Can I wire into any controller

The cheap controllers are cheap for a reason, they are the crappy speed controller versions. The more expensive KT models are much better with better power levels and power delivery.

Losing power Freego Wren - Advice please

The Bottom bracket, this is the bearing axle unit unit which the pedals/cranks arms bolt to. One will be best to up turn the bike to see the sensor , the magnet disc is attached/sited behind the front inner chainwheel.

    Bottom Bracket Size

122.5 is as you say the crank axle length , one can buy sq taper BB's with various axle lengths.

Losing power Freego Wren - Advice please

Have a look at the bottom bracket and the PAS sensor , most likely a two part affair with a magnet disc and wired sensor head. Check the disc isn't broken or twisting around its axis , intermittent power is often a cause of the PAS . The disc should sit and turn evenly as the pedal cranks...

    Ultimate bike camper?

On flat terrain towing 300lbs /150kg shouldn't be an issue but one will need nice good dics brakes so an upgrade to four pot callipers. I have towed over 125kg on my CF trailer which way over the 90kg rating for it and it felt like it as well, my 250w Bafang g370 hub coped well towing with...

True a wheel. Bike shop or DIY?

Once you have tried once and even if you don't quite get it right , you can simply go again. No guarantee the LBS will get it right but one would hope so

    Batteries Charging Routine

24% of the time taken to charge from 41v - 42v isnt't due to capacity but the slower time that blancing takes , so the balancing % time is disproportionate to the total charge time. The charge goes from 2a etc,etc , to a lowly paltry 50 - 100ma for balancing.

    Ultimate bike camper?

A bit unstable all but on most flat roads, even on the brief bit of grass the girl cycled on one could see the instability. A good mobile Glam camping effort but the design is too high.

    Help! Strange hub motor behaviour

The main white Hall sensor block can sometimes be an issue , on continuity test stick your probes up the back of both parts on the same wire colours and make sure all six in turn show continuity. Phase bullets disconnect them & gently crimp them tighter. Reconnect and see if it is just a poor...
