    Shortlist down to 2 (Orbea/Wisper) - Thoughts/Comments

No throttle? As a first bike, most people would prefer the throttle to torque sensor.

    Derestricting Sirocco CDL

that may be, but I find it difficult to believe it's the case. Woosh sell a lot of CD bikes and they all have the same chain. No other member has reported this problem until now. You said you replaced the chain and the cassette. The chain woosh use is KMC X series for 7-8 speed. The freewheel...

    Derestricting Sirocco CDL

chainslip can be caused by worn teeth on chainring, worn teeth on freewheel and stretched chain. A damaged cog on the freewheel is probably the most frequent cause because the same cog may be used all the time in comparison to the other cogs. Your 14T cog will wear more than 10 times faster...

A good foldable ebike to commute to work

30 miles a day is pretty hard core in London because of the murderous traffic. Plus you have to watch out for the thieves where you leave your bike. Cwah does this kind of commute for a long time, perhaps he'll be on here later to share his experience with you. If I had to do this, I'd put...

    Gsm vs bbs01

another method is to use an energy meter like this one: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-Energy-Power-Volts-Amps-KWH-Meter-Analyzer-Electricity-Usage-Monitor-UK-Plug-/171722934544 you check how much energy is used to recharge your battery to full, take 10% off for conversion loss.

yes, also their Raptor and Forza have rear wheel drive. Most Ezee bikes are front wheel drive.

What do you think this is worth?

that's the way to build a brand image.

Is anyone offering an e-bike with type approval and throttle?

No, not me. I'd rather have a sub 15kg pedelec.

    Bpm motor

there are three reasons why woosh install the motor at the front wheel instead of the rear on the Big Bear. 1. reduced risk of damaging the gearbox and of breaking to the spokes on the motor wheel. Unlike motors mounted on the rear wheel of a hardtail, the front motor cannot stall. The Zephyr-b...

    Oxydrive kits

Andrew @ oxydrive is not a free loader. His account is a trade account. It has always been for years.

What do you think this is worth?

The guy describes the bike as 'fast pedelec' because 'it will decrease the assistance till you reach 28mph'. It seems optimistic to me. I would also read 'has started to take a toll on the battery' as battery is on its last leg. The motor may follow the battery shortly. £200 max.

What advance in bicycle technology has impressed you the most?

cwah, didn't you overfeed your motors?

    Bpm motor

yes, the woosh Zephyr B has rear BPM motor wheel. It will cope with muddy tracks. http://wooshbikes.co.uk/?zephyr-b woosh will also introduce shortly the revised Sport bike with rear Bafang SWX02 motor and 15AH battery. The SWX02 has about 90% of the power of the BPM but weighs a lot less.

What should I buy as my first e bike?

yes. The electrics will last 14,000 miles. Mechanically, you only need to replace the cheap derailleur.

What should I buy as my first e bike?

one bike that I think can do 60 miles a day is the woosh Karoo with 15AH battery. The bike is light, fast, and energy efficient. It has a throttle too. http://wooshbikes.co.uk/?karoo

Does spending £300 more make a difference?

@Jefner As ball park figures, assume that the electrics add £500 to a push bike. You've got £500 left for your push bike. For under £500, which push bike do you like most at present? Then compare the specs of that push bike against ready made e-bikes up to £1500. You get the idea.

Which is more ethical - Woosh or Cyclotrocity?

I am already tilted toward the SWX02. I test rode the GSM before although with the GSM there is the attraction of not having to buy new spokes and relace the motor to the Giant SR2 rim. As I said before, the SWX02 is very quiet and confident with the Lishui 18A HL1260 controller.

Which is more ethical - Woosh or Cyclotrocity?

the 8-Fun SWX02 has a huge torque although woosh labelled it as 250W. I had absolutely no trouble going up steep hills. I am going to put the GSM on just for comparision. The GSM is about 1.2kg heavier. This is the SWX02 code 12 on woosh santana2...
