    'Dead' Sirocco CDL

unlock the battery and pull it out. You'll see the output port where the battery contacts the pins on the controller side. Check the two outside pins (battery side) with a volt meter - or it can be the two middle pins. If there is a switch, switch the battery on.

Check first with a volt meter that you have 41V at the battery output port. Let us know.

Looking to Start Building and Selling Ebikes in My Area

you would need public liability insurance. You should create a limited company for the purpose of buying, selling and repairing bikes for this activity. It's much easier to get insurance and accumulate earnings within the limited company.

Looking to Start Building and Selling Ebikes in My Area

you can build and sell 250W e-bikes. There is currently a gap in the market, well finished bikes for less than £1,000. Mainstream Chinese bikes importers can't get their bikes finished to German standard and nobody in the UK builds e-bikes to German standard either.

cathal, the problem is perception. You may think that you have spotted a gap in the market (s-pedelecs), but the gap is there for a reason, it's forbidden territory for the mainstream suppliers. There is also a technical issue. There aren't ready built push bikes good enough for use as donor...

Any info on the B'Twin BeBike 900

better still, you have a number of members running e-bike clinics, demo and hire from their homes. They only need a bit of space to keep a portacabin office in their garden. For income, the importers pay them a commision, a percentage on the ensuing sales. 50Cycles run a similar scheme but...

Any info on the B'Twin BeBike 900

I think it depends on the context. Most e-bike shops I have visited are not particularly busy, except on Saturdays. There is a lot of over provision there. If you look at the way argos work on the other hand, there is no fat. If an e-bike shop is set up to sell £2000 bikes, it has to look right...

    Hi everyone

most folding bikes fold in the middle, you can't drag it on the floor. If you want a tri-fold bike, read this thread: http://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/help-needed.22837/#post-287960

Any info on the B'Twin BeBike 900

I think it depends on the business model you want to run. Hatti had the experience of running a showroom in Cambridge for 3 years. I think a low cost model more appropriate to e-bikes would be just a showroom, with two part-timers so you are not stuck. Those two part-timers should be able to...

Any info on the B'Twin BeBike 900

I don't think Hatti could operate on £70 per bike, it's likely that the figure of £70 is arrived at assuming the same net profit after costs on each bike.

just curious, Paul, would you pay £70 more for the Big Bear if woosh was nearer? I was told that's the average cost to woosh on each bike to open local shops.

    Have I missed anything?

the Bear has 26" wheels, same size as your Juicy Lucy. You can of course ride it. The difference is mainly in the motor and battery. The Bear has a much larger and heavier motor.

Mechanical disc brake problem on Woosh Big Bear

if you have just degreased the brakes, it may need a day or so to bite. Otherwise, it seems that you have ruled out most of the possible reasons. I would suggest you ask Andy @ woosh to lend you a new caliper. Swap it in then return what you don't need.

Check the contact area first. Does the pads contact the rotor surface properly (flat)? If they do, then take the pads out and check first for traces of oil contamination. Check also the pad's thickness, it should be at least 2mm. Post a picture of the pads if you can.

1-1-2016 Today's Change in the Law.

martindf3 rides a DD 1000W bike. It's much more natural to ride these bikes with throttle and I concur with Martin. It's the same riding with my wife. It's difficult to keep riding together (and have a conversation) when one is a much stronger pedaller than the other or the two bikes are very...

    Hi everyone

are you going to take your folding bike in the train with you? if you do, then there are very few models that are light enough and easy to carry up steps. If you don't, then you will need to find out more about where you are going to park the bike. Watch out for rain water and thieves.
