    Does a controller heat up?

Yeah, I wouldn't bother, doubt if it will get damaged tucked away in that little container. The only problem you're likely to have is tarnishing of the battery contacts, creating resistance. Just keep them clean with a cotton bud dipped in rubbing alcohol.

    100A controllers - too much ?

Blimey, I cringed every time one of the riders opened up the throttle. Anyone on here?

    Does a controller heat up?

Just from any potential road shock or a crash, god forbid. For example, I have my Ping 48v 15Ah split pack, inside a triangle bag in the frame. I have used some fairly thick sticky backed foam, to prevent it from banging about on the frame and potentially damaging the battery or chaffing the wiring.

    Does a controller heat up?

As Zebb said, I would try not to cover it up, especially the side where the fets attach to the casing. Edge with screws along the casing. Use small pieces of sticky back foam attached to the controller at key points to isolate from shock. BTW, controllers are pretty robust, so vast amounts...

how likely can minihub crack like this

The freewheel side cover of my MAC motor failed dramatically a few years back, and that was just by the torque applied via leg power to the freewheel. Admittedly I was pedaling hard off the saddle on the 11T when it happened. It really all depends if that batch of motor castings were of...

    Kudos Arriba 25MPH ;-)

Law rights and wrongs aside, I've always believed it's the way you present yourself anywhere that you ride, that can become an issue at whatever speed or power. Yes, you are most likely going to feel the full force of the law if you are involved in an accident on a heavily modded bike. But so...

    Yamaha Electric Moped has bombed

Crikey, that's shocking. Why on earth such a respected company would market a product with such a poor range is beyond me. Bet the things bloody heavy too. Wouldn't want to be pushing that home when it runs out of juice  Edit: Found the specs and yeah, no way I would want to be pushing...

    Global Postage Programme???

Anyone bought anything using the Global Postage Programme? It looks like it's some delivery deal linked to eBay. Not sure whether it's stuff bought from US only. Just wondered if it would make importing bike kit any cheaper  I try and get my bits and bobs from Europe these...

    Message for D8veh

There is also a D8ve which I suppose is an inevitable consequence of people's names commonly starting with the characters d, 8, v and e. Pretty soon someone will have to move on to de8vf if the trend continues. Damn these imposters.. I say we smoke them out and burn them at the stake...

    4.3 mm thick inner tubes

I reckon combined with a Schwalbe Marathon Plus tyre, would make for a pretty bombproof set-up. Never get a puncture again... the thought :)

Straight after ride, leave battery to rest before charging?

I'm still gonna be using the 5A charger for the sheer speed of charging, as I can sometimes go out twice in a day and use up 15Ah's each time. Bringing the question back to the original subject. I can imagine the battery is still warm and stressed straight after use, so can it damage a battery...
