    Brexit, for once some facts.

You've spelled out at length some of the essence of what government is aimimg for, more complete control over the population. We've been through this before in the 1970s and '80s. Following WW2 the people voted for a more people biased government and gradually became more assertive, this...

    Transport plan? What transport plan?

So your response is also as much opinion, but with inaccuracies and failures to mention what IS actually happening. The DfT forecast is about traffic, not cars, there is a big difference and it is only private cars I have been posting about. We've already got that difference, fact. For...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

It's rare for me to side with a Tory government, but on this occasion I do. What the health worker unions are up to at the moment is too often blatant blackmail, taking advantage of the chance to maximise disruption at the most vulnerable time. The nurses for example are on a minimum of...

Prices of the electricity we use to charge

Back to the thread subject. The acquisition of Bulb Energy UK by Octopus Energy was completed last night, 20/12/22 at 23.58 hours, in accordance with the High Court ruling making the objections of competitors ineffective. Good thing too, Octopus are the natural successor, having a similar...

    Raleigh Stow-Away e-bike?

Bike company ownership is a crazy situation now. Accell and Pon still operating independently in the Netherlands but US owned. Some of the few European makes they don't own are owned by US company Trek. And Schwinn, who were once America's largest bike company, went broke in 1996 and were...

    Transport plan? What transport plan?

Here you go again with conspiracy. How can the things that are already happening and continuing to happen be conspiracy theory when they are present fact. You seem to have been missing what is actually happening recently in so many ways. And your mention of voting government out is even...

    Transport plan? What transport plan?

It's not just us, others are working along the same lines. Governments have long realised what a huge mistake it was to allow mass car ownership. They've been gradually chipping away at that freedom and the combined advent of e-cars and the environmental issue has been a golden opportunity...

    Raleigh Stow-Away e-bike?

A small correction, Winora do not own Raleigh. Both those bicycle brands and numerous others are owned by the Accell company, a Dutch giant who dominate Europe's cycle market*** Brands page A second Dutch company, Pon Holdings owns much of the rest, including Derby Cycles gmbh who own...

    Transport plan? What transport plan?

Not as much typical as one might think. "Campaigners say meeting these legally binding targets will be possible only with a drastic reduction in motor traffic, which could make many new road projects financially unviable." As I've spelled out at length previously, it is precisely governments...

    Slime.

Any stiffer tyre will have somewhat less grip on undulating surfaces than one with a softer compound, but I'd guess that knobbly tread on the MTB version would make up for it. There's an intermediate one as well if the canal paths aren't too rough. .

I do notice but don't care, swings and roundabouts apply, since it depends on one's income and outgoings. As Mr Micawber put it: “Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure nineteen [pounds] nineteen [shillings] and six [pence], result happiness. Annual income twenty pounds, annual...

    Slime.

I've also tried slime, more than once with different makes, completely useless, just makes a mess. Schwalbe Marathon Plus tyre are a far better solution. Not ideal tyres but in many years with them only one slow puncture from a long thorn. After a pumping top up, I was still able to ride 12...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Indeed, but of course it means time is on their side. There does seem a certain inevitability about Sinn Fein's likely future success, both South and North. As your generation pass, so will that of the guilty men. .

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Ireland's leaders have taken a leaf out of Russia's books, imitating what Vladimir Putin and Dmitry Medvedev did when they swapped the roles of President and Prime Minister to retain power by circumventing the rules. In a first for the Republic of Ireland's political system following a previous...

Prices of the electricity we use to charge

Prices of the electricity we use to charge

With it being just after Christmas, all the unrest at present and it being the cold weather peak, they may be holding off the really big increase until the planned April 1st rise. The weather should be milder then so less likely to cause as much harm. .

Prices of the electricity we use to charge

Thanks Neal. My Bulb prices pending completing their move into Oxygen have been identical to yours, 35.314p per all units 42.678p per day standing charge so I may be getting an adjustment soon too. If so, it will confirm that some of the companies have been working together like a cartel. .
