TO ALL GORGEOUS MEN AND BEAUTIFUL WOMEN

Mmm, free burger from Hatti and free biccies from d8. What y'all trying to say? I will concede, that in woosh terms, I'm more 'Big Bear' than 'Petite'.

Cycle to work scheme friendly bike for light commuting

Some baby seats clamp to the seat tube of the frame. The seat sits quite high, so I expect there would be enough clearance for a carrier mounted battery. That type flexes a bit as you ride along, giving the child a nice, compliant ride. A seat that clamps directly to the carrier may also fit...

How many miles have you done on your Bosch powered bike?

Yes, it is noticeably quieter than the Rose. It's also my main bike at present - the rear wheel of the Rose is currently with Madison to sort the Alfine hub neutrals problem. That may, or may not, be the subject of another 'Service, what service?' thread.

Cycle to work scheme friendly bike for light commuting

You order it, wait six months - this is the bike industry - by which time you can start another scheme.

The worth of the scheme appears to depend on how the employer/scheme operator finalises it. Amigafan's 'final hire deposit' looks good value. Some users are faced with buying the bike after X number of years - if they want to keep it. The Inland Revenue is realistic, I've heard of them asking...

    Torque - explanation please

Lots of definitions online, which may serve to confuse rather than inform. Generally speaking, torque is twisting force which equates in an engine/transmission set up to pulling power. Practically for ebikes, quoted torque figures cannot be reliably compared because there is no standard for...

    Bosch bearings

I hope the conclusion is not: worn bottom bracket on a Bosch bike = new motor. Bottom brackets wear out on all bikes, so it ought to be a reasonably easy part to replace.

    Saddle sore already!

You could have a mess around with the Proofride stuff. My advice there would be to use a scrap pair of trousers/shorts - some inevitably rubs off on the crotch, making it look like you've had a little accident.

    Saddle sore already!

Bear in mind they really don't like being rained on. A lot of owners stuff a carrier bag underneath to deploy if the bike might be left out in the rain.

Cycle to work scheme friendly bike for light commuting

You are reasonably fit and light, so you ought to fly on any of the bikes on your shortlist. However, you mention carrying a child which will obviously add to the weight of your rig. The Ezee is reckoned to have the pokier motor of the three, so that would be my choice. Service from Ezee is...

    Bosch bearings

It appears Stu is being well looked after, perhaps his expectations are higher than mine. Bosch service for an out of warranty paying customer - which would be me - appears to be take the bike to a dealer who has access to 'Bosch service', whatever that is. The dealer in my case is a...

How many miles have you done on your Bosch powered bike?

The total on the Rose is showing as 1,350miles, although quite a few of those are dongle miles so I suppose the true total is more. No idea what I've done on the AVE.

    Handlebars

Worth pulling out the black plug on the top of the steerer to see what's underneath. You may be able to mount a longer stem, which would be good because that would save transferring all the stuff from one handlebar to another.

OK, small motor and small battery, but the bike looks quite well made for £750.

The Bosch conditions say: "There is also the danger of negating the guarantee and warranty claims on the bike you purchased." They use the word danger because they know that to legitimately reject a claim they would have to show the tuning/dongle caused the failure. For example, a claim for...
