    50 cycles - misleading advertising

it sounds like ball bearing noise. Could be from the pedals.

which Chinese brands are you talking about? I don't know who imports Longwise for example. for most of us, it's the vendors' name on their bikes.

I think most customers buy on: 1. Performance (range, climbing power) 2. Price 3. Warranty (length, quality of support) 4. frame shape, colour and bike decals 5. Accessories (hub gear, hydraulic brakes, puncture proof tyres, mudguards, rack, propstand) You and Hatti do well on 1, 2, 3. Both...

    Woosh CD Sport electric problem

just a suggestion, ring support ask if you could 'borrow' a battery to see if the problem is sorted, you can always give your credit card number as guarantee. If it's sorted, then send in your old battery for repair. That way, you are not without a bike.

we are of course talking about the Ezee bikes, the Ansmann are reasonably good looking. Take the Ezee Torq for instance, I can see the benefit of a two-legged stand but it marrs the look of the bike, why not offering it as an option? Also, brilliant lacquer paint finish! that just says 'I am...

firstly, I don't worry too much about looks. I am more concerned with performance and reliability. In these areas, your bikes are very well placed. However, if you want to know how I think your bikes look in comparison with bikes from other advertisers on this forum like Kudos, A2B, Ebco...

your bikes are well respected for their intrinsic value but I wouldn't ask the forum for their view on how they look.

    New: Electric Bike Magazine

I don't get it. The reason that Peter Eland's magazine did not get anywhere is because they appeal to the wrong crowd. They'd get my subscription the day they'd put the £370 Tesco Hopper City instead of the Haibike xduro on the front page.

I reckon the BPM gives about 50-55NM max with a 20A controller. To compare BPM against CD TCM, you factor in the front to rear ratio. On the old Santana CD, the TCM gives 60NM max at the cranks, 60NM*34T/44T=46NM at the rear wheel. The BPM will trounce it in all cases except when stalling. The...

break discs and how they suck.

the problem with mechanical disc brakes is that most have single caliper, forcing the rotor to flex before contacting the fixed pad. This operating mode loses huge amount of braking efficiency due to uneven contact between rotor and pads. However, the power of disc brakes is huge, they remain...

the problem is some high gradients you have in your area. The BB is brilliant for anything up to about 8%, even hauling 17 stone. As the speed decreases rapidly with gradient, the BPM motor loses equally rapidly its efficiency. At above 9%-10% average gradient, more input energy is converted to...

The Santana CD has the new CD motor, it'll climb anything on throttle alone. both the Big Bear and the Santana CD have a large motor and 15AH battery, mudguard, rack, lights etc. hence the extra weight.

it's a Chinese bike. All the parts are about middle of the road for a Chinese bike. Front motor, rear Nexus 3 hub. What's special about it? Battery on the handlebars?

    Batteries

    1. most of them are Chinese made, prices are quite low (£160 - £300) 2. also generally true for any bike, not specific to bikes with in-frame battery. 3. quite a lot of models tend to have the same lockable casing like the Kudos Secret and the woosh Zephyr-B. 4. there seems to be convergence to...

why so little is said about the advantages of hidden batteries? Stealth, superior water ingress protection, superior ergomonics. They are by far the most significant factor in improving bike designs.

    Record breaking

I believe the BBS02 48V 750W kit can be that fast (the record is 54.536km/h). Also are most 1.5kw - 2kw direct drive kits. The velodrome has perfect riding condition for speed, no gradient and no headwind.

that particular DT casing is not popular among downtube batteries. Do you think Ezee are going to keep it for the next 10 years like they did with the VP?
