An end to the dreaded numb bum?

What underwear are you using? I've found ordinary cotton pants grip and bunch when riding which causes discomfort over more than a few miles. Lycra cycle shorts prevent this. I use mine as underpants and wear ordinary shorts or jogging bottoms over them.

How many people are using there e-bike off-road?

Sheff, Are you running a single pannier? If so, a good tip is to mount it on the right hand side of the bike because it gives you a bit more width and road presence when you are in traffic.

    hi all

You really don't need 1000w and you could easily end up with a virtually unusable contraption which is always breaking down. Frank from Xipi is a member on here and could sort you with a quick, but sensible and reliable kit: Welcome to Xipi You say most of the run is off-road, but if you plan...

    Riese and Muller delite

That's another reason why the bike is so expensive - few people have Dave's knowledge of conversion possibilities and the value to be had there.

How many people are using there e-bike off-road?

So do I, shows a dry wit.

How many people are using there e-bike off-road?

Nice pic, but one of you riding on one wheel would have been more interesting.

    Talk about a crazy world...

Yeah, ruddy Chinks with their dirty energy supplying their dirty factories. If I were you, Dave, I would have nothing to do with it.

    Another new Bosch unit derestrictor

No such option available when I ordered the original dongle seven weeks ago. I get the impression Badass is a young business which, like its products, is in development. The payment options on the latest website are probably cheaper, although I don't do enough buying online to know.

    5 year Bosch Battery Guarantee

Fair enough. Chances are I will buy an extra battery at some point, although there's now no rush until the better weather next year. You might have seen in another thread I am getting a dongle (hopefully), so the impact of that on power consumption may also have a bearing.

    5 year Bosch Battery Guarantee

Which presumably means you will be making a loss on any batteries you supply under the offer to your own customers. Fine if the offer is an incentive to buy a new Bosch bike from you rather than another supplier. You need to make it clear the offer is for new sales.

Would be much better if he simply offered 25 per cent off Bosch batteries to forum members. Just sayin', like....

    Combined electric wheel

This combined wheel/battery and motor claims to be 250W/36V, 11ah, and weigh about 4kg. Impressive - if it's right. FlyKly Smart Wheel by FlyKly — Kickstarter

    Another new Bosch unit derestrictor

...update on my order... Cutting a short story short, my original dongle with the separate battery pack arrived from Badass, but did not work. They promised me one of the new versions within weeks. When weeks turned into months and the website went down, I feared the worst Lui from...

    Brompton Nano or Kudos Secret?

You have worked out the differences between the bikes quite well. I have a Brompton Nano and the steering is a bit twitchy, although the weight of the battery in the front damps it a little. Bromptons are designed for asphalt, the handbook says to be careful on cinder tracks. They are doable...

Possible long waits for Bosch powered e-bikes.

A lot of anti-Bosch sentiment in this thread. I think some of you may be confusing Bosch with Boche. And yes, I do know they started it by invading Poland.

    Hello from West Fife

One of the usual answers to knee pain is saddle set too low. As a starting point, your leg should be fully extended with your heel on the pedal. Obviously, you don't pedal with your heel, but this set-up means your leg will be almost fully extended when pedalling normally with the ball of your...

    Hydraulic disc brakes

Good quality hydraulics do have a lot going for them. The Maguras on my Rose appreciate a squirt of cleaner now and again, but have been maintenance free apart from that. Easier to keep the wheels clean with discs because you don't have brake dust smeared against the rims.

    Kudos Arriba 25MPH ;-)

Not quite. No one has yet quit the forum in a huff and nor has anybody mentioned the war.

    Kudos Arriba 25MPH ;-)

I expect most ebike owners - fast and slow - are like me and have a car as well, so avoiding car running costs and taxes doesn't come into it.
