    Freego and Sheffield hills

Doesn't sound like there's much wrong with it, as Eaglerider says, most 250w bikes will need a fair bit of effort from the rider on a steep hill. I've not tried a Freego on a steep hill, but you may find it performs about the same if you put it on maximum assist level and not bother with the...

    Kudos Arriba 25MPH ;-)

Picking and choosing which laws to abide by and which ones to break is a dangerous path to tread. But, try as I might, I can't get vexed at the thought of celedep doing 18mph on his Kudos bike with the motor spinning weakly in the background.

    KTM Machina Cross

As is often the case, Sheldon Brown has the answer: Starting and Stopping The step off dismount and restart takes a bit of mastering, but it's well worth it.

    Dodgy ebay listing?

There's a kalkhoffusa.com sticker on the seat stay which suggests the bike was first sold in America. It certainly has a story to tell which I doubt is entirely straightforward. 2010 Sahel Comp | Urban E-bike | Kalkhoff USA

kudos tornado or kudos cobra (or sirocco cd?)

Twenty miles each way is hardened commuting, even on an ebike. You will need mudguards, lights and probably a rack to carry stuff - clothes, sarnies, laptop etc. All can be retrofitted to a Tornado or Arriba, but I would be looking for a bike that is at least part kitted out for commuting...

    To flash or not flash?

Rule 60 of the Highway Code permits a flashing lamp, but recommends a steady one in areas without street lights. https://www.gov.uk/rules-for-cyclists-59-to-82/overview-59-to-71

Trip Advisor is particularly dodgy because accommodation/meals are very personal services and lend themselves to complaints, which viewed with even a small degree of detachment, are irrational.

There's nothing in the (now pulled) comments from the OP that KTM can reasonably complain about. What we are seeing here is the 'Trip Advisor factor' which has caused problems in the hospitality trade. Like it or not, anyone with a computer and an internet connection is now a published...

    Wisper 705 Classic

Wisper enjoy a good name both for the quality of the bike and the quality of back-up service, so you need have no worries about buying one. As mentioned in your earlier thread, there are not so many bikes these days with a twist throttle which assists to full speed, so your choice may not be as...

How many people are using there e-bike off-road?

Lose traction? Low siding it? I think you are a bunch of hooligans who would be better off indoors studying for your cycling proficiency tests. Yours, Tufty the Squirrel.

Advice needed on light weight step through ebike

"Lightweight' and 'ebike' don't really go together. Weight high up is worst of all, so a lot of ebike step throughs feel even heavier because the battery is on the carrier. A step through with the battery low down behind the seatpost will feel lighter and more agile. I would go for 26" wheels...

    NEC Bike Show

I hadn't thought about disc brakes giving the spokes a hard time, but I think I still prefer them. No rim wear, doesn't matter if the wheel's out of true, hydraulics are all but maintenance and adjustment free, and the pads last forever for a moderate user like me.

AVE SH5 review after nearly 2 months

Those mudguards are a good fit, and the front one has a bit of depth which many do not. I reckon wrong radius mudguards spoil the look of a bike. Pleased the bike's going well. You seem well set, so that should continue.

    NEC Bike Show

I'm told the ebike section at Eurobike has grown substantially in the last few years. There's no doubt I see more ebikes now when I'm out and about than when I returned to cycling a couple of years ago. Then I hardly saw any. Now I see one or two most times I'm out - two yesterday and...

    NEC Bike Show

Alex, I'm sure you are right about disc brakes as opposed to V brakes - discs are far superior in every respect, apart from a few extra grammes which is irrelevant to anyone but the pros. The nice feel of the Trek bike might have been due to a clever seatpost de-coupler some of their bikes...

Pedelecs - Read Terms and Conditions of Warranty

My impression is factory warranties on push bikes aren't up to much, so in that respect the ebike makers are following the industry (low) standard. At one time, responsibility for the warranty on your new consumer goodie lay with the retailer, but we, as consumers, are increasingly being...
