    Brompton - alternative rear carrier

At first blush this appears to be true, and there's certainly no point in it if your bike already has a rear carrier. However, from a root around the Brompton website, retro-fitting a rear carrier is not simple. It requires removing the back wheel, and may require a new mud guard. No mention...

    New to e-bikes

The bike in your link looks like a fairly standard 'no name' Chinese import. Most of these are OK for what they are, and you won't get anything significantly better for £560. Just don't expect it to stand up to years of heavy use. It has a throttle, which I think you will find useful in...

Electric Conversion Kit, Which to choose? Compatible with folding bikes?

I can't answer your technical questions, but a folding bike for £125 is unlikely to make a good donor bike, or be a good bike at all. Avoid.

    Puncture re-inflation

I carry something similar. Opinions seem to vary, some people swear by them, others swear at them. Tempting fate, I've not had to use mine.

Are Ebike Suppliers immune to Sales Fever ?

The Dunlop valve is also known as a Woods valve. You can get adapters to convert to Schrader - Google the obvious. Might be an idea, because your track pump - if you have one - and any other pump you might want to use while out and about is unlikely to work on the Dunlop/Woods valve.

    Electric Bike Virud

The impact of new technology is often over estimated in the short term, but under estimated in the long term. The first computers were meant to herald the paperless office, which hasn't happened, yet there are now computers in every office. I agree developments in ebikes are needed...

    A serious hill climb.....

It may be the bike in the video had the higher power version of the Bosch motor, called in some markets at least, a '45' because of the number of km/h it will do.

    Ladies lightweight ?

I think you may not find what you seek, 25kg is not particularly heavy for a step-through ebike - a £1,700 Kalkhoff weighs that much: 2012 Kalkhoff Agattu C8 Impulse 45cm Electric Bike They have a compact model which is a couple of kilos lighter, but it's £1,800 which I'm guessing is outside...

Are these tow trailers really safe in the dark?

I saw one of these trailers part company with the bike. There was no traffic around and the trailer crashed into the ditch on the nearside. No real harm done, but lots of tears from the child.

    New to e-bikes

mm1, Kudos and Juicy have been mentioned already in your thread, another company to consider is woosh which has three folders, all around £500. All of these companies post on the forum and are well-regarded by members. Any of their bikes would do the job, but bear in mind the motor and...

    Helmets in Aldi

I've been keeping an eye out for one of these without success - until about an hour ago. I called into that little-known outpost of the Lidl retailing empire in Langley Moor, County Durham. They had one black XL in stock which I nabbed for £19.99. Fair play to the lad on the till, when...

SRAM 2-speed auto shift gear/hub motor

I've read stuff about the auto NuVinci in relation to both ordinary and e bikes. But like you, I don't quite get it.

SRAM 2-speed auto shift gear/hub motor

On the topic of auto shift, I see there's a Kalkhoff ebike with the electric auto version of the NuVinci hub: Kalkhoff Sahel i360 NuVi Harmony 50cm TI 26"

2nd ride out on Storck Raddar.......

I've tried quite a few ebikes over the last few months and there's not much between any of the legal ones for climbing. If you want to power up hills the best option is the naughty one - a bike with a bigger motor. But even that's not straightforward, some of the higher power bikes are built...

£300 fine plus £1800 costs for "dangerous" rollerblading

One or two on here take the posting of an alternative point of view as a personal insult. But flecc is not one of them, so methinks wires have become crossed somewhere.

£300 fine plus £1800 costs for "dangerous" rollerblading

The fine - £300 - appears reasonable for a defendant probably in receipt of a decent income from his public sector (retired youth worker) pension. Costs - £1,800 - are what they are. This was what the courts misleadingly call a 'private prosecution' - one from the increasingly long list of...

£300 fine plus £1800 costs for "dangerous" rollerblading

He chucked the appeal on the day of the hearing, so in that respect he has wasted everyone's time. His appeal was listed by Liverpool Crown Court and a judge and two magistrates allocated to hear it - they may even have read the papers. The lost slot also means delay for genuine appellants...
