which conversion kit to buy/build, specifically for a George Longstaff Trike

Rolling resistance is not so important with electric power, so you could run wider tyres which should help stability.

Another Dave or chubby bloke on a bike.

Dave, I think you will struggle to find a bike you can pedal easily over the assisted limit. I've tried several different models, and none have been happy going faster than the limit. You've tried two - the Giant and the Storck - and found the same. The conclusion is an obvious one, but also...

Found myself answering the same old questions.

Getting lots of the same queries is much better than only getting a handful of different ones.

    Naughty but nice..

Yawn is right. Jeremy can post what he likes, but I think it's a pity he continues to mislead people when a 250w/25km/h bike is, for all practical purposes, legal. Anyway, back to dreaming about my thoroughly illegally fast Stromer, in white, with a suspension fork, mudguards, rack and lights...

    Tow Path Trip

You are bound to encounter a few 'hazards' on a trip of that length. No point in being put off by anglers, but I'm always wary of any I do come across. Not least because some are very anti-bike and have been known to drop hooks and other small, sharp objects in an apparent bid to cause punctures.

The Mountain 25 model is 250W limited to 25km/h. This link should work, but it's under the technology:motors tab on the site: +Stromer- Motor

    Naughty but nice..

Top bike, made by a proper bike company. I see from the English language website you can choose ordinary (UK legal), a climber or one for speed. Plenty of other options, too. I've not really had a dream bike - until now. +Stromer- Home

Came off my bike in the snow

I came off my Brompton on a speed hump when a pedal caught the hump. I should have gone over with the pedals level. Happily, the Brommie was undamaged, they are good, sturdy bikes.

New Light runs direct from battery.

I've just lashed out on one of these after seeing another rider with one: Lezyne Macro Drive Front Light | Buy Online | ChainReactionCycles.com Neat, easy to fit/remove and it charges from USB. I don't ride a lot at night, but it will also get some use as a hand torch at my static caravan...

    Storck Raddar Multitask...some observations

There is a knack to riding each of the ebikes I've tried in order to get the best out of them. But it's only that, a knack, after a few rides you've cracked it. One of the many problems with the Storck is the knack seems more like a degree course. A throttle can help on any ebike. If, for...

Another Dave or chubby bloke on a bike.

Dave, We have the same inside leg measurement and I found the same with the Wisper Alpino. You are in Newcastle and there is an electric bike stockist in South Shields, although not where you'd expect it. Sports Recycler, which among other things dismantles and sells bits from stolen bikes...

    Grace UK and Ireland

I see the price is about 4,400 euro which I imagine will equate to about £4K over here - too sore for most of us. But I think it's great Wisper is prepared to look at bringing in high-end bikes, rather than the safe option of another container of cheap stuff from China. A Grace One as a...

    Grace UK and Ireland

According the the Grace website, it is the Grace One which has the horrible headlight: Google Translate It also has far more power than is legal. I have no problems with that, and might buy an illegal for the road ebike. But such a bike shouldn't draw attention to itself. The One's twin...

    Kalkhoff Panasonic Mods

Spot on, although I suppose out of an abundance of caution we should advise the OP to avoid step-throughs, particularly cheaper ones.

    Kalkhoff Panasonic Mods

Losing weight is overwhelmingly about diet rather than exercise, although if you do both you are cooking on gas because you are attacking the problem at both ends. Burning off the calories in a pizza takes a significant amount of exercise, so your best bet is not to eat the pizza in the first...

    Storck Raddar Multitask...some observations

The Storck looks to me like a £300 mountain bike with a badly engineered Bionix kit slapped on it. Enthusiasts on here do a better job - at least their bikes pull properly.

    KTM Electric Bikes

I see quite a few of the 250w bikes run at 47v. Does that mean they are faster than the common 250w/36v bikes made by others?

Trek / CST motor / Hydraulic Disc Brakes / Cassette

Out of favour dealers might find their orders take a long time to fill, or mess up in some other way. Brompton also refuse to allow their bikes to be despatched to the customer by a courier - even Evans abide by that. Daft really because the Brompton - packed in its box - must be be the...

Trek / CST motor / Hydraulic Disc Brakes / Cassette

The bloke at Spa is certainly a character, you either, er, hate him or don't like him very much. Having said that, he gave me a discount on my Brompton. Brompton got wind of that - not sure how - and he fell out with them bigstyle. Told me he'd dealt with them for 20 or 30 years and they'd...
