    Chunky monkey needs a kit!

you've got full suspension on the motorbikes. The suspension absorbs the shockwave. Broken spokes affect hard tails with rear hub motors more than any other configuration.

    Chunky monkey needs a kit!

the Brompton wheels are 'legendary' for their toughness. the strength of the spoke is determined by their breaking force, which depends on their elastic modulus of their steel, the spoke angle, dishing, rim, tyres and frame. With all the other factors being equal, the longer the spoke, the more...

    Chunky monkey needs a kit!

The overal comparison does not change. I am not disputing that a well built wheel will perform better than a badly built wheel. What I am saying is equally applicable to 14/16/14 spokes because the 16G section is still that much longer on a non-motor wheel. 13G can take higher tension, resulting...

    Chunky monkey needs a kit!

perhaps some of these 20 customers have lost contact with you. Badly built wheels will cause the nipples to loosen, leading to broken spokes. If you fit 36 x 13G spokes to a 26" non motor hub, the spoke length is about 245mm, the wheel is pretty much indestructable. On a 26" BPM motor wheel, the...

HELP - Bafang Rear wheel not turning after inner tube change ??

do you mean your power connector on the KU123 side has 3 wires? then the small wire is for the ignition switch. You don't need to use the small wire from the power connector if you have an LCD. The LCD will connect the red and blue internally when you switch the LCD on. Without the LCD, you...

HELP - Bafang Rear wheel not turning after inner tube change ??

the LCD/LED panel connector has 4 wires, the red carries battery +, 36V in your case. Connect it to the blue wire (return from on/off switch from the LED panel), that will turn on the controller for testing. Then use your throttle to check the bike out.

Add salt to significantly extend the life of lithium-based batteries

the article does not say which cells the Prof was working with but I suspect he's talking about Nickel Metal Hydride batteries. Adding halide salts (chlorides and bromides) would not benefit cells using metal intercalation like in e-bike batteries.

    pedelec failure

I never understand why they don't put a heat shrink sleeve over the connectors in the controller box. This type of incidents would have been avoided altogether.

HELP - Bafang Rear wheel not turning after inner tube change ??

Can you post a picture of the controller? Some controller has a wire that puts it into learning mode. If your controller can't spin up a brand new wheel, then the fault may be within it.

Wisper 905 - what's the Nm torque rating?

the Bafang BBS01 is somewhere in between. Bafang are playing catch-up and will release their torque sensing version soon. The good thing about Chinese CDs is that you can get more powerful versions.

    Difference between?

ann, as RobF said, you could be throwing good money... The gap between the saddle and the stem on a 20" folder is about 15", and on a 26" step strough is about 22". You are correct in battery capacity, the Ecco comes with 24V 9AH battery, 12A controller. The Pro Rider bikes have 36V 10AH. May be...

    Reasonably priced bike advice..

the woosh £699 Zephyr CDN would fit in any lift without having to fold but they are more often out of stock than in. http://www.wooshbikes.co.uk/?zephyr-cdn Also, smaller wheeled bikes are not as comfortable as full size 26" wheeled bikes on a 10 mile stretch.

The £599 Green Edge looks very good: also there's the woosh £585 Sirocco with slightly larger capacity battery (36V 10AH battery against 9AH for the Green Edge). http://www.wooshbikes.co.uk/?sirocco
