    Motor cable missing.new kit

it's a standard 8-pin waterproof cable for sensored motors. Better buy ready made. If truly stuck, ask Hatti @ Woosh, they may have one knocking around somewhere in their workshop.

New batteries and kits from BMSBattery

the cells are NCR2900mAH so it should be able to do 2C, 20A continuous rating, same as maximum rating. But on the datasheet, they wrote: Undervoltage: 28V Overvoltage: 42V Maximum discharge current: 20A Maximum Charge Current: 5A Height: 325mm Dimension: 325mm X 90mm Diameter: 90mm Continuous...

    Battery capacity drop

prismatic cells are used in rectangular packs like inside rack batteries or behind seat post batteries.

    Battery capacity drop

batteries with prismatic cells are much easier to fix. Fewer cells, cells have solder tabs, BMSes have standard wiring.

    Derestricting Sirocco CDL

I may be wrong, from memory. Could not find the information on the web page, you'd better check with their technical support if you need to know.

    Derestricting Sirocco CDL

true. Braking power does depend on pad size. The Sirocco CDL comes with Novela disc brakes which have 50% bigger pads than the Zoom disc brakes in the Santana CDL. Hydraulic disc pads are twice as big as the Zoom's.

Fat Guy Needs a Folding Conversion on Train Commute!

that why I suggested that you pop into woosh in Milton, Cambridge to try their bikes, then pop into The Electric Transport shop in Hope Street where you can test ride their Sparticle before even buying a second hand Brompton.

Fat Guy Needs a Folding Conversion on Train Commute!

have you seen the price of used Bromptons? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/171426783242 Woosh sold this 6 year old bike a couple of days ago for £470. The guy who traded it in bought a Zephyr CDN. The difference is, he did 200 miles in 6 years and we do 200 miles in a couple of weeks. You only have to...

crE, d8veh means the speed sensor magnet on the rear wheel, I meant the pedelec sensor magnets - disregard what I said earlier about magnet(s).

Fat Guy Needs a Folding Conversion on Train Commute!

the Brompton comes in at 11kgs, you need to add the weight of motor, battery, bag, controller, about 6kgs. Also, 100 miles a week without proper suspension is hard. It's still one of the lightest e-bikes though but you should bear in mind that it will be an expensive mistake if the plan does not...

Fat Guy Needs a Folding Conversion on Train Commute!

you've got a good battery and good controller on the xiongda and two speed gearbox and a pair of strong legs. The Sparticle on the Brompton has about as much power as the Woosh Gale that I know well, it's no match for the crank driven Zephyr CDN with a Nexus-3 gear box, which is no match for the...

    Derestricting Sirocco CDL

you can't, it's built inside the bottom bracket, on the non drive side.

Fat Guy Needs a Folding Conversion on Train Commute!

his 19st may be a problem for the Brompton. He's also got dodgy knees, so he needs to rely on the throttle, 250W is not going to be enough unless he's happy to go at the same speed as those scooters.

    Derestricting Sirocco CDL

on the flat, there is no need to do anything different than with nomal bikes. On hills, try to think to shift down before you need to. Shifting to smaller cogs don't need any special care, shifting to bigger cog, you need to stop pedalling before shifting, the motor will stop while the chain...

    Derestricting Sirocco CDL

sorry, that's with pedalling. On throttle alone, flat roads, about 18mph.

    Derestricting Sirocco CDL

you're about as heavy as me (65kg), on the flat, no headwind, I get to about 24mph. I like pedalling but am not a strong pedaller. If your cadence is high then you can go a bit faster.

Fat Guy Needs a Folding Conversion on Train Commute!

your 19st will overwhelm the SWX motor in the Sparticle (and the Brompton). You need a motor of the size of the BPM or a German crank drive which forces you to pedal, so your weight cannot stall the motor. With a dodgy knee, I'd say get a BPM. sparticle motor: it looks big for the small...
