    Another Sirocco CDL "noise" topic!

could you make a 12 o'clock mark between the middle of the crank bolt and the crank with a marker pen, so that you will know if the crank bolt spins out in relation to the crank?

Dahon Helios SL electric conversion advice

36V * 5.8AH = 208WH. The power consumption will depend on how hilly the terrain is, assuming 15WH/mile on flat terrain, using a lot of throttle, you'll get 14 miles max. you can get the speed, 15mph without pedalling, but for the range, it will depend how low you will want to let your battery...

I am sure there are plenty of members who have used cheaper Lipo solutions for years without problem. The risk is possibly only theoretical but sufficient to make sure that none of the e-bike manufacturers wants use them. Trust me, they are interested in its high discharge capability. So Lipo...

I'd look for a front bag first before ordering the battery. If the bike can fold easily with a front bag, then you can think of putting controller and battery inside the front bag - that you can detach and take inside the office for charging the battery. If not, then d8veh's universal bottle...

There is already plenty of speed with the Q100C, why make it more complicated with overvolting? You can have a straightforward frog case, front bag or bottle battery with high discharge rate to support your motor. if this were my first project, I'd keep it simple to a tried and tested recipe.

    Which folder?

I can't see much wrong with the new Woosh Zephyr-B. It's the Big Bear in a foldable frame. It has hydraulic brakes against the Bear cable operated, it's much lighter, has QR front wheel and is better suspended and it folds. You can take the battery out and charge it in the office, take it in...

I believe small lipo setup is not safe for transport use because it's does not come with a battery management system. Have you looked into ready made solutions like the GoCycle? http://www.gocycle.com/

    36v to 48v Compatability

can someone tell me what would happen to the electrics if you use 2 x 6S lipo bricks (44V) and there is a short in the power wires, either inside or outside the controller? there seems to be nothing in the system to stop a fire.

    Woosh Sirocco CDL First Impressions

I don't know. there is a freewheel/sprag clutch built into the CD motor on the chain side. Turn the cranks backward, you can hear the (tiny) soft sound made by the ratchet mechanism. If it's the same sound, then it's normal. But you can't hear it when the motor is doing the driving. There is...

from the non drive side, check if the chain flaps against the chainguard. The chainguard is mounted on two soft long steel brackets, easy to flex, push the chainguard away from the chain if you find the chain too close.

    Cyclotricity Stealth

cheap crap usually does not have stainless bolts and nuts, the rust keep the bolts tight after a few weeks. That's a good idea to double bolt. I use threadlock to threadlock anything that can be loosened by vibration. You ride a lot faster assisted, so there are more vibrations. For the cranks...

Advice on price for montague x50 ezee 48v conversion

I reckon £700-£800 if auctioned on ebay . For comparison, there is a large ready made folding bike from Woosh, called the Zephyr B, B for Big Bear. It has the same BPM motor and controller as the Big Bear, of similar ability as your ezee V2 motor, and 26" wheels like yours. The Zephyr B comes...

    What Connector is This ?

I know what it is, it's a connector for motor will Hall, but not many sellers use them anymore. They are replaced by 8-pin waterproof motor cable. Woosh have used them on their Elios. Presumably, they still have spare motors and cables. You can just about see the connector in front of the...
