What has happened to the variety?

The interesting sector to watch is the 20 or so IBD like condor cycles in London selling to c2w customers. If they decide that e-bike is the way to go, their combined firepower is awesome and it will hurt! PS: FWG may have seen sales double in 2014 because of the merger rather than national trend.

26 inch wheels vs 700c wheels

the difference is easily felt. if you use the ebike simulator at ebike.ca, the difference between 26" and 700C is about 5%, less than between 26" and 650B or 28.5" (10%). The 700C usually come with narrow tyres, less grip, the simulator can't show that. Look also at the time it takes for the...

    Wisper 905 e Help

your DS2 is light and strong, perfect for a sport style Cyclotricity kit but your 16st calls for a BPM motor, like the Big Bear or the more comfortable Big Bear-LS - I guess the 905SE is somewhere in between.

What has happened to the variety?

please don't take this as a personal criticism but a lot of posts from the advertisers are just 'please, buy my bike' without explaining why we should buy yours instead of another brand at lower price. Frequent posters like myself try to answer the OP's questions, obviously not 'it costs £500...

or clone. 8-Fun motors have 8-Fun embossed on the shell with part code. bike looks well put together though. Must pull like a rocket on 20" wheels.

What has happened to the variety?

yes, but customers still shop at Halfords and Evans in large numbers and few can resist a big discount. The reality is bikes have become so much better that more and more are going to shop on the net for better price.

26 inch wheels vs 700c wheels

hilly area: 26" wheels. You need the rotational speed to avoid overheating the motor.

What has happened to the variety?

If ever the big guys like CRC and Wiggle come in, they will offer big discount on top brands such as Giant, Cube, Haibike to establish their holding. Then there are the supermarkets and the likes of Ocado. Watch how quickly Tesco market their Hopper range. This situation has happened in the PC...

Woosh Sirocco CD vs Cyclotricity Stealth

doesn't matter. the impression I've got is the Bear pulls away very strongly, a bit of a thug. the CD is more like my own bike, a proper lady, she's got muscle but also a gentle touch.

that 6 mile climb on the B3274 from Padstow to Winnards Ferch is a nice long climb, not steep (5-6%), except a very short section near the camping site.

Woosh Sirocco CD vs Cyclotricity Stealth

no way. the Bear pulls away much more strongly than the CD at traffic lights. where did you get the 7 seconds for the CD from? at most traffic lights, you would be on the flat, the CD would be in gear 6, 7 or 8. even if you ramp up in 6, the Bear will still be faster at traffic lights reaching...

    Handle bar problem

first, you need to check that the crank bolts are tight. For this, you need a long handle 8mm allen key like this one Tighten each bolt about half a turn to see if the click changes. the torque setting for these two bolts is 40NM-50NM, quite high. The bolts also has to have some medium...

Woosh Sirocco CD vs Cyclotricity Stealth

I may be wrong but when I tried the Big Bear, it pulled so strongly at traffic lights that I even thought should have motor on the rear wheel and bottle battery for better friction, the CD seems a lot more gradual in power delivery.
