    Woosh Big Bear Chainring.

this is the kind of bottom bracket (BB) fitted in your Big Bear: Shimano UN55: This is a BB for Hollowtech: Shimano 4600 The bearing cartridges are inside the BB shell in the Big Bear, they are outside the BB shell in the Hollowtech. Woosh advice is not totally correct. Although you can't...

    Woosh Big Bear Chainring.

you mean BCD (bolt circle diameter) - the Big Bear chainring does not have bolt circle - you need to replace the crankset, you can't swap out just the ring. As d8veh said, if you look at a long term setup, the 48T hollowtech crankset at £50 is excellent VFM but 48T won't give you much, only up...

    Woosh Big Bear Chainring.

the crankset on the Big Bear is a typical Chinese 44T chainring and 170mm alloy cranks for square tapered spindle. Something like this: suitable 52T cranksets: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lasco-Alloy-Crank-170-mm-x-52T-Crankset-/130957470204

    King Meter Power Down

I read somewhere some time ago that there is a way to get into the advanced settings on the J-LCD but could not find the info. Simplest way may be to ask Woosh to swap out your J-LCD.

cyclezee may have 11T DNP freewheels. Your bike has 8-speed 11-32 cassette like mine, last time I paid £10, from ChainReactionCycle. I buy bike parts from CRC, tools from amazon, the rest from ebay.

    Woosh Big Bear Chainring.

you'll need a 52T or 54T crankset, new chainguard, new chain. it's easier to change the freewheel for a 7-speed 11T DNP. http://www.universalcycles.com/shopping/product_details.php?id=49866

Bike to suit me? - short, heavy and unconfident rider

trust me, 26" Dutch style low steps are most comfortable on any roads, you can ride all day and your back and wrists are going to thank you for making the right choice.

crank is easiest, fastest if derestricted and most expensive (£550 10AH bottle). Rear (£500) is stealthy, you know the cons already. Front (£500) is easy, sensible but not good traction on wet roads. I am partial to crank because I ride one. Totally maintenance free (well, nearly).

    Cyclotricity Stealth

Most of us using an e-bike for commuting will have one problem or another. With a little preparation, most of these hassles can be kept away. The two things that cause most hassles are: water and vibrations. These are my recommendations, other members may want to add theirs. - Must have puncture...

Powered axle too tight a fit

usually the anti-torque washers go inside the dropout, with the lugs in the opening of the C and the cable going downward not to pull the water inside the axle. As you have had to spread the forks, in this case, it may be easier if these fat washers go outside to avoid more spreading.

Folding bike, 20", full suspension and integrated battery.

for many years, 250W geared hub motors are those with 120mm diameter. Their larger cousins, the BPMs, have 180mm diameter and are usually marked as 350W. It's clear that the 120mm 250W motors do not have the climbing power of the 180mm 350W BPMs. When someone makes a comparison between hub and...

direct drive motors have high speed but do not have high torque. If you want torque, buy Ezee, BPM or crank drives.

that I may agree with in time but for now, the CD can give you a lot of speed without pedalling so fast that you could give yourself a heart attack. Woosh will give me an 18A BBS01 in a couple of weeks to play with and I will try to fit it with a Nexus 7 laced to a 700C wheel.

I am not convinced in the same way that I am not convinced that BPM motors are totally legal. If you know your motor won't cut out completely at 26kph - I think you should worry a little.

your reasoning is of course sound but you can't reason with tastes. There is something compelling about having the motor pulling on the chain - making you feel you ride a bike, not a motobike. The power isn't huge but flexible and appropriate.

You know it has to be 250W motor. Let's take out the VAT, import duty and Paypal exchange and delivery charges: the Woosh Zephyr CDN would then cost around $800 ex-shipping cost to someone who lives on the Isle of Man but it has a crank drive, LCD and Nexus hub gear against 8-Fun hub, LED...

it's the fire engine red paint of the outrider. The Zephyr CDN is pretty plain but the next two folders (Gallego and Metro) get logo and go faster stripes.
