    Pro Connect, worth the cash?

Hmmmm. That’s interesting about the radial spoke pattern on the 24 spoke rim. Now that you have mentioned it, the theory about a crossed spoke pattern giving a more resilient wheel makes perfect sense. Touch wood, not a hint of a problem with my wheel so far. I hope it continues to be trouble...

    Pro Connect, worth the cash?

James, have you changed the rear wheel on your Pro C to a 36 spoke design or was it supplied with that wheel from new. If you have changed it, was it as a result of some sort of problem or just out of personal choice. Regards Tom

    Pro Connect, worth the cash?

I think the best thing that you could do is to invest a bit of time in trying both bikes. I could bang on abaout how much I like my Pro C and what a wonderful hill climber it is etc etc, but what I like about the Pro C may not suit you. I find it has the power to climb any hill that I have...

    Pro-Connect Rear Wheel

From a personal point of view, my Pro Connect hasn't developed any serious problems and the components seem to be of a very good standard. The two problems that I have had, a faulty charger and a snapped prop stand (my fault), 50 C have sorted within 24 hours. The wheel does worry me though...

    Pro-Connect Rear Wheel

Sorry if I am being a bit slow here. Are you saying that when I need to replace the rear rim on my Pro-Connect because of damage or wear, I will have to buy a whole new gear hub costing ???? because they no longer support 24 spoke rims? If so, this is astonishing, I have only had the bike...

    Pro Connect brakes

cost of charging a panasonic battery?

I think the charger is 60 watts Therefore 2.5 hours use at 60 watts or .06 Kilo Watts = 2.5 (hours) x 0.06 (KW) Which equals 0.15 Kilo Watt Hours per charge. (Or 0.15 units of electricity per 2.5 hour charge) My current Eon unit prices are 30p (first 225 units), 11p (Day Units), and 6p...

    Pro Connect brakes

What indicates that the pad is in need of replacement? My pads have just about worn down to the grooves. There is no wear line on the side of the pad, so what is the indication. regards Tom Edit: Does anyone have any thoughts on the use of the hub type roller brake?

    Pro Connect brakes

You can just replace the pad. Pull yhe pin out and slide the pad backwards against the direction of wheel rotation. This diagram may help. http://techdocs.shimano.com/media/techdocs/content/cycle/EV/bikecomponents/BR/EV-BR-M750-1792_v1_m56577569830611889.pdf

    Pro Connect brakes

I have ordered some of these Shimano XTR XT / XTR V-brake replacement cartridge insert (f.. Ignore the picture it is wrong. I have just been into the garage with the intention of fitting them but when I got what I thought was the worn set out, they didn't look too bad. How do you know when...

    Shimano V Brakes

I am going to renew the brake blocks in my Shimano XT V brakes. I have downloaded the data sheet http://techdocs.shimano.com/media/techdocs/content/cycle/EV/bikecomponents/BR/EV-BR-M750-1792_v1_m56577569830611889.pdf Am I correct in thinking that I pull the pins and slide the brake block...

Carrera Sparc - a few more questions

Rad, is Cycle to Work Scheme, different to Cycle Scheme? I think these are companies that administer the finances on behalf of employers and take a commision for doing so. It maybe that Cycle to Work don't allow top ups where as Cycle Scheme do. Or I could just be talking rhubarb.

Carrera Sparc - a few more questions

I purchased a Pro Connect using the cycle to work scheme. You just have to pay the difference. It still gives you a saving though.

    New lights from USE

Do you know what voltage the Exposure Redeye rear light requires? It is now down to under £30 so might invest in one. Apparently, it plugs into the MAXx-2 front light (so I assume that it is the same voltage as that), so does not come with a battery. I don't have a MAXx-2 so I was wondering if I...

    Pro Connect Prop stand

Thanks very much chaps! I can see that I will need to talk very nicely indeed to those decent fellows at 50 Cycles. All gentlemen to the last in my experience. (I’ll give it 24 hours before ringing them so they have had a chance to read my brazen creeping.)

    Pro Connect Prop stand

Whilst cleaning my bike (Pro Connect) this lovely afternoon I have just snapped the prop stand whilst wheeling it backwards through a doorway with the stand down. Idiotic thing to do I know. This is very annoying as the stand was a useful feature and I want to replace it ASAP. It is...

    Pro Connect Bolt warning.

I have had this same problem as well. I find that dirt thrown up off the road collects in the spring and on the plain section of the retaining bolt. The dirt and grit then works its way into the clearance between the plain section of the bolt bolt and the bearing surface on the tensioner arm...
