    Brexit, for once some facts.

Quote: "There are two goat meat farms in Northern Ireland – Broughgammon Farm located on the sprawling moss land outside Ballycastle and Tynedale Farm on the road to Saintfield from Lisburn. Both produce goat that has been embraced by chefs here and throughout the UK." And Broughgammon retail...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Indeed, I wasn't the only one in here to forecast that Hancock was scheduled to be the fall guy. Well deserved mind you. .

    Brexit, for once some facts.

The issue is that signing up to the higher EU standards might block US food exports to us, scuppering a UK-US trade deal. GM crops which the EU won't accept, for example. .

    Brexit, for once some facts.

I'm not sure the EU is still in a problem solving mode, given the UK's intransigence and unreliability. With them unable to trust us I see then moving into punishment mode, hence tariffs. .

But I do see them imposing tariffs on trade between the EU and UK if the UK doesn't toe the line of the N.I. border. That would hurt us far more then the EU. .

    Not used for three months

The BMS can do that. Only the few e-bike batteries that have a sleep mode avoid that by shutting down the BMS after a week or two. .

    Not used for three months

Ideally yes, but I still wouldn't leave them uncharged for five months as was going to be possible. We've seen so many cases of batteries registering nominal voltage ok but that collapsing under load. I've reached the conclusion that there's too much fretting about fully charging. I've never...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Maybe, though I'm sure tempers are getting short now. As Danidl comments: "This reversion to old habits is a way of keeping the political benefits of Brussels-bashing even after Brexit. Phoney belligerence may have served its rational purpose but it is still far too useful politically to be...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Or we could sit it out for a decade to let the hurt continue for the people of Northern Ireland and the hurt of Brexit build up for the UK, making the latter less attractive. A process that can lead to the eventual inevitable, the re-unification of Ireland. That would solve all the problems. .

    Council recycling centre bike access

I'm not surprised, 70% of your population cycle regularly, so there a bike is the norm. Here in the UK as little as 3% cycle regularly, so it's abnormal even to cycle, let alone use a bike to carry goods. So Health and Safety is the excuse to enable discrimination. .

    Not used for three months

I never leave any lithium batteries more than three months without some activity, so I'd recharge them both now as a precaution. They'll then be in good shape and ready for use in two months time. .

E-bike sales boom despite high prices and confusing rules (and confusing BBC articles)

Yes, very silly of the BBC to publish this which is only of use to those in the USA to help them understand their revised three part rules. Those US rules will seem attractive to many here, until I tell them they are subject to all manner of restrictions by State authorities with each state...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Yes, I knew about this when it happened. We Remainers did warn time and time again before the vote about the scope and scale of Brexit damage, but the fishermen and car manufacturing workers preferred to listen to the self seeking, unthinking, incompetent Boris Johnson. I know exactly what I...

    Don't forget your helmet

Apparently not in Denmark though. Watch any video of cycling in Denmark and you'll see most cyclists don't wear them there. That's probably because, like the Dutch, they cycle more than anyone else in Europe and retain a sense of proportion. Their authorities keep trying and release...

Do what I've done, hover over the name POLLY on the left of one of his posts and click the middle Ignore option. Then close and reopen your browser and you'll not see POLLY's original posts any more, they'll all permanently vanish (unless someone quotes one). As far as I'm concerned he's no...

Ironic That Hancock sticks with it when one considers that this quick results testing was promoted by his arch critic, Dominic Cummings. Frankly both the PCR and Lateral Flow tests are so unreliable they might as well stop all mass testing and save the many millions wasted doing it. Just PCR...

They don't need to of course, they can sell everything they can get hold of and take advance orders for when in stock. Strange how the Brexit thread has suddenly become about electric assist bikes. Anyone might think this was an electric bike forum! .
