    Giant lafree Twist

As both VFR400 and Hunter say, it's a very risky buy but if you are lucky and it's reliable and the battery is good might be worth it, but don't pay too much. It's 19 years old and only cost £850 new including VAT, so anything over £100 is too much. They do have some inherent faults that...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

When one can but a complete and sound e-bike from Woosh at a little over £1000, this motor kit at £999 doesn't make any sense. A scroll down of the link below shows what a little over £1000 can buy: Information Link .

Perhaps a way to get people into e-biking, but I never buy anything where they slash the price every so often, like this one with occasional half price periods. If they can afford to do that, then cut the price all the time to say £850. .

I hear President Macron has had his face slapped and two men have been arrested, I did wonder at the absence of Jesus H Christ and Zlatan since last week. ;) .

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Indeed, just as we deserted the Channel Islands next to France in WW2, the USA would probably desert us next to Europe in a future conflict, following their WW2 experiences of supporting us. They only reluctantly supported us back then since they had an objective, to destroy the European...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

I actually agree with Boris and have long believed we need to detach ourselves from the USA which keeps us "weedy and meek". We need to realign with Europe instead and realise that the USA and the West will not be so dominant in future. It will be the Orient and particularly China and quite...

this is really a big problem. The electric motor touches the brake. Please advise.

Think radius Pete, the 20 mm extension is on one side of the disc from the centre. Half a 140mm disc from the centre is 70mm, half a 180mm disc from the centre is 90 mm. The difference betwen 70 and 90 is the 20mm extension outwards for the caliper. .

As VFR400 says, 20mm radius. That means the diameter of the disc is a gain of twice that, 40mm, the difference between the diameter of a 140 and a 180 mm disc. If you buy the part VFR400 recommended from ebay, you'll be ok. .

How should I upgrade a bike with a coaster brake?

It is not legal in the UK and I'm surprised that Chain Reaction is selling it, they should know better. A bicycle must have two brakes to be on UK roads: The Pedal Cycle Construction and Use Regulations 1983, says you need two brakes by law: one on the rear wheel and one on the front. That...

After posting in this vein incessantly to 29th March, Polly followed with just twice on 12th April and now twice today in June. So he's just an occasional visitor now, perhaps realising at last that we aren't taking any notice. Either that or the long gap from April 12th to June 6th was due...

Omg..the descents Ive done with this front brake.

Thank your lucky stars you were able to tell us about it! A timely reminder to all of us how disaster can just be a moment away, so check the essentials, preferably just before the top of a steep downhill. .

    Council recycling centre bike access

As Gringo says, tough it out with them since they are clearly being awkward for no good reason. I used to turn up every week at my council recycling centre with loads like this for my many neighbours as well:

But even better, no vaccination so no grouping at all for someone like myself in continuous isolation, only communicating electronically. The point I was making. It only takes one in close proximity to infect, the size of a group across a large stadium is immaterial. .

I suppose that ideally meant not gathering with lots of others at vaccination centres or mass testing facilities. I am serious, perhaps much better to remain isolated without vaccination or testing, especially if in a very low risk group. .

China is ending its two child policy, from now on mothers can have a third child if they wish. Only two other countries in the world have a two child government policy, Vietnam and the UK. Yes really, George Osborne as Chancellor introduced ours in 2015 and it is still in force. The policy...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

That's why Jesus H Christ calls them backstabbers, appended with insulting adjectives. They dare to let us have the truth that our government tries to hide. For once it's a Brexit benefit, while we were an EU member they might have been more circumspect, but now we are out they don't hesitate...
