    Replacement controller

All controllers work more or less the same and will give you the functions of throttle, pedal assist and motor control. All throttles work the same regarding telling the controller what to do. All magnet disc type pedal sensors work the same in principle. Some bikes have features like a...

    48v 11.6AH Battery high voltage Cut-off

Those cells are only rated at 2.75A continuous, which is 11A continuous for you whole 13S4P pack. With a 30A controller, you've been over-loading them. so they've worn out quicker than normal and they've become saggy. For a 30A controller, you should get a battery with cells that can give at...

    Gocycle GS - Lock recommendations

that's true for the latest state of the art MTB, and roadbikes to a lesser extent, but the average robber doesn't know what a Gocycle is because it looks a bit like a toy bike.

    Front suspension for my ebike

Spring forks are better than rigid ones, but not much. If it's comfort you want, there's a big step difference betwen air forks and spring ones - a bit like the difference between hydraulic and able brakes. There are some hydraulic forks in the mid price range that are half-way between spring...

That's at least 3 types then. The other two both have controller compartments. It's getting complicated.

    Kt lcd5 pas pedaling backwards

Flip over the magnet disc. I think you can do it with software in the LCD3 and LCD4, but not the LCD5.

    Front suspension for my ebike

Air forks are always better than cheap suspension forks. You can usually find plenty of good used Fox and Rockshox air forks on Ebay, otherwise these Chinese nock-offs might be OK. Don't waste uour time with remote lockout...

I was hoping to see the battery because that doesn't look like one of the two normal Hailong cases. You've shown everything but the battery!

    AKM100

You'll strip the gears running that motor with 25A. It's not 12A continuous. That'sthe controller's rating, that you'll exceed with a high speed motor. It'll be 25A mainly continuous with the throttle or on level 5 because of the motor's high speed. That will also overheat the controller if you...

Not particularly high power but faster ebike?

It's pretty simple to get what you want: A 48v battery and controller will sort you out. A 15A controller should be enough. A 17A one will give you a bit more power to sustain a higher speed when you're tired at the cost of battery range. I's recommend a KT sine wave controller with LCD3 from...

I think the Wisper watfarer series might be a good choice as you're quite heavy and have dodgy knees. They run at 44v, so you get 20% more power compared with equivalent 36v systems, and at 105kg with hills, you'll need all the power you can get. personally, I think hub-motors give a much more...

Advice for an old arthritic fatty

If you're an arthritic fatty, you'll need a hub-motor system that can give out some decent torque. The Pendleton probably wouldn't be suitable. The Woosh Big Bear ls would be pretty good if they have any left, and it's very comfortable, though quite heavy, otherwise check Ebay for 48v bikes -...

    Police Checking in London

It's absolutely true. I was personally involved. The guy's name is Adam B. This is his email to me after I sent him the letter, which he gave to the police. All previous comms were by phone. Hi Dave, Thank you for the information it's very useful. Good news that the police released our bike...

Help! Swytch Kit - Big Rolling Resistance - Xiongda, AKM hub - checking/help

Xiongda controllers have special software in them because of its high speed. The AKM85 would probably work with the Xiongda controller, but I wouldn't guarantee it. You can't use a Xiongda motor with a normal controller, but Swytch might have standardised their controller to work both motors.

    Newbee from,Flanders, Belgium

I don't think you'll need a 500w Bafang. When you run your motor at 48v, it'll be 30% more powerful, which is enough for most people. KT controllers are the best. They do a 17A 36v/48v one, which should be perfect, though it's a bit larger than the typical 15A controllers. They also do a 20A...
