    Looks like new battery technology

there is so little technical details about this - cotton electrodes? how thick the electrodes are going to be? a modern Lithium battery is 15 micron thick. It sounds so low tech to me. until the patents are granted, it's vapourware.

    Best electric bikes under 2000

we are talking about small probability here. The 8-Fun SWX motor on the Sirocco 2 is the same as on the Vita Uno, the reliability of this motor is really good. Less than 2% failure per annum. If it fails, courier cost to send the wheel to the UK is about £20. The manufacturers will pay to send...

    Best electric bikes under 2000

I've just noticed you've upped your budget to Eur2,800 - most people would not spend more than £1000 on their first e-bike, not because they can't afford more than that, more because they can't be sure that they are going to use it that much, keep it that long or want to upgrade in the following...

    vehicle charging

Some people go for overkill. The f factor of a battery charger is 0.99 . On top of that, a battery charger works with a wide range of voltage and frequency - read the specs on the charger label, they'll cope with anything between 110V - 250V, 50Hz to 60Hz (and way beyond). Typically, a battery...

Over 100kg and getting a Big Bear

that's the best bike for under £1000. Correction: it's not a real bike, you sit on it and yank up the throttle. No need to pedal whatsoever for 50 miles.

the 12V car adapter charger only needs 100W input from your battery. Your cigarette lighter socket is good enough.

Torque sensing build for Tern folder

I borrow a friend's e-bike this afternoon for a spin on the sea front in Southend. His has RST Gila fork, V-brake and rear hub. Mine has Rockshox Dart, Auriga Comp and crank drive. You know how it feels to downgrade. Now would I swap mine for a 350W motor mounted on a steel fork with only a 20"...

if you go front hub drive without suspension, you're going to hurt your wrist.

    Why so few Ebikes

to Kudosdave if you see e-bikes as competitors against cars and buses then you must concentrate on promoting cheap e-bikes.

    con62..now the fun bit!

your controller may not support the walk mode if pressing the walk button does not do anything. You have two modes: pedelec assist (PAS) controlled by your pedalling and the PAS level as shown on your LED, the high is for climbing hills, the low is for getting a bit of exercise. The middle level...

    con62..now the fun bit!

You are correct, assistance is off when the lights are out on the LED display. The 6kmh is also called walk mode, it gets your bike up very steep hill when you and the motor are not strong enough to ride up. BTW, you do mean to connect the throttle to the controller, not the LED unit, right?

electric bike - 1st one - help please!

Woosh sell direct only, Kudos bikes are available at about 25 bike shops - quite well spreadout - unfortunately not near Plymouth where you live. The dealers add a bit on the price. The Cube is a very different bike. Higher specs, Bosch drive with a price to match. personally I would not spend...

Passing on enthusiasm and bike sales. Being pro active.

every seller has support staff and a phone number. If you have a problem, call them, they diagnose the fault and arrange to get it fixed. If you get it from a shop, you call the shop, the dealer may know the answer if not, he'll call the vendor's support then come back to you. One extra step...
