    Cycling Accident :(

no real harm done, that's the important bit. Should take the bike to a friendly bike shop to get it sorted. It shouldn't cost much. I hit the kerb once last week, it sent me flying off the bike and I was lucky to get off with a couple scratches, I broke the mounting bracket of the LCD and my...

very sorry to see this. It looks like you did not brake in time.

    Hi from hilly Sheffield

that's why I suggested to measure from the battery plus terminal, it's the common rail. Mike, the polarity does not matter much, swap the probes if a minus sign comes up on your tester.

    Goes E-bike Cross Country

folding e-bikes sell very well into the caravanning market (batribike do a roaring trade), foldable 26" can also be admitted into the underground and somewhat easier to carry up stairs than stubby 20". They are definitely a better choice for a 6-footer wanting a foldable e-bike.

    Goes E-bike Cross Country

Col, don't take this too seriously, but it seems to me that when you don't do something, you can't seem to appreciate the good point in it. I think arbol made a very good point. This bike may not fit the KTM image but it's practical, it'll fit in the boot of a lot of cars, not all, but a...

    Hi from hilly Sheffield

you need to open up the battery and locate the balance wires. These wires go to each cell, one after the other. Measure the voltage between the battery's plus terminal and each of the balance wire. You should see 0V, 3.8V, 7.6V, etc, the voltage goes up by 3.8V steps. If one is lower, then the...

Hi from France (yes, you read it correctly)

have you forgotten import duty, clearance fee and VAT? if you buy the whole kit, you may save some money but if you only buy a battery, it's not cost effective.

shouldn't you look at a front drive 200 rpm BPM kit? it'll give you the extra torque and keep your front derailleur?

Hi from France (yes, you read it correctly)

that pack is dead easy to replace.Take 10 minutes. You ask Hatti for the Sirocco 2, 10AH battery, it costs £200. or ask for the Sirocco 2, 15AH battery, costs £300, same size. Measure the size of your pack and tell her to check, just in case. You won't save any money buying from bmsbattery...

Hi from France (yes, you read it correctly)

can you post a picture of this battery? it may be easier to buy a new battery from Woosh for £200 and replace the pack inside. You can get the mounting kit with controller box for this one for £15.

    Best electric bikes under 2000

perhaps applicable to male members but you can't seriously suggest to female members to spend an afternoon playing with a used wheel and a copy of Sheldon Brown's? spend £3 on a bottle of blue loctite and 30 minutes painting over all the bolts of your new shiny bike.

Passing on enthusiasm and bike sales. Being pro active.

I was talking to Hatti @ Woosh not so long ago about this same question. Their point is they can't control the quality of after sale support of independent dealers. If some customer needs a repair to be carried out, they can arrange for a local bike shop or a mobile mechanic to sort it, much...

    Newbie question about ebike derailleurs

I am surprised at why you discarded the crank drive option so quickly. For folding donor bikes, crank drive is the best option except when it interferes with the fold (eg BBS01 on Brompton). You get to keep the wheelset, brakes, gears as they are and get better weight distribution, speed and...

Why do I read so much about spokes breaking?

when you find a loosened spoke, use the spoke key to check how tight other neighbouring are done up by trying to tighten them just a fraction. You don't want to lose the trueness of your wheel, so keep an eye on the rim while doing this. Tighten up the loosened spoke to same degree then check...

    Best electric bikes under 2000

a lot of members are not so capable of sorting out broken spokes and other niggly repairs themselves, that's why they are prepared to pay £2,000 for the most reliable, trouble free bike. Now if you can design one, the world will beat a path to your new bike shed. Is it a Kalkhoff? I don't know...

fake a B6 charger? it won't take more than a couple of days to design one from scratch.

A charger to test used cells

I've got a cheapo £10 B6 bought a few years back, which I only used a couple of times. For power input, I made an extension lead to tap an unused HDD power lead from my PC. It does the job. Ebay has more convenient B6AC that plugs straight into the mains for about £23. I suppose the Turnigy...
