Folding bike - Kudos Secret vs Woosh Zephyr CD vs Other?

it won't be easy to make a conversion much lighter than the Zephyr CD. The in frame battery is about 2kgs, the motor 4.5kgs the bike itself about 13.5kgs. The Zephyr has full suspension, so you may be able to get a lighter frame and lose the front suspension fork, lose also the two disc brakes...

Folding bike - Kudos Secret vs Woosh Zephyr CD vs Other?

just a couple of points: one: the Woosh Zephyr CD can climb up to 15% on throttle, above that, you may have to pedal a bit, two: you can't change its chainring.

Folding bike - Kudos Secret vs Woosh Zephyr CD vs Other?

he does not have to derestrict the bike. The bit where he goes uphill is assisted up to 15mph, then he's got a bit of downhill where with 100kgs on the saddle, he can easily freewheel at 20+ mph, should be doable. Actually, I agree with you RobF, for 1.5 miles, he'd be better off with a rock...

Folding bike - Kudos Secret vs Woosh Zephyr CD vs Other?

I only used two gears when I took the Zephyr CDN for a test spin. Gear 3 all the time except when climbing up the cliff road, I changed down to 2. Only at one very steep bit near the top of Pier hill, I changed down to gear 1 and rode at about 8-9mph on 15% gradient for 3-4 seconds. The bike has...

    Battery Conditioning

there may be justification for discharging completely at least once when the battery is new or if you want to 'reset' your battery. Quite often, batteries run at nearly full. One electrode is full of Lithium, the other is mostly empty. Flattening the battery give you two bits of information: low...

Folding bike - Kudos Secret vs Woosh Zephyr CD vs Other?

I can give you a bit of information about the Woosh Zephyr because I've ridden it last month when I visited Woosh in Southend. The Zephyr CDN is the better of the two, with Nexus-3 hub gear. When you fold the bike and put it in the boot, the bike can lay on its side without worrying about...

Volt Pulse X vs Kalkhoff Pro Connect Impulse 8-G Alfine

The oxygen e-mate with similar specs has RRP £1500. paying more for excellence in design or higher specs makes sense, paying more for 'je ne sais quoi' does not.

Volt Pulse X vs Kalkhoff Pro Connect Impulse 8-G Alfine

The Pulse X looks expensive compared to the £1295 Kudos Arriba, ugly and low tech compared to the £1800 Cube Reaction Hybrid Pro:

    250w controller and 500w motor

quite sensible configuration though, one that protects the battery, gets my vote.

Volt Pulse X vs Kalkhoff Pro Connect Impulse 8-G Alfine

what's so great about the Volt Pulse X anyway? Good brakes, good battery but 8-Fun SWX, RST forks, Zoom handlebars, KMC chain, CST tyres for nearly £2000?

    Hi All!

Is it the LSR50 that you want to buy? nice bike! 36V 10AH battery, TranzX PST motor. Lack of suspension on a 20" wheel bike may be the only thing wrong with this £1300 bike.

    26 Inch-wheeled Pedelec

it's the global world right now, China's manufacturing is improving so quickly that it's difficult to tell where the stuff is really made. Almost all the frames used by Derby Cycles are bought in (a lot made in China or Taiwan). Batteries are made by Samsung and Bosch make lots of motors in...
