Help! Help and advice with cassette choice needed.

I used freewheel geared motors for many years over thousands of miles. I never had a problem with any of them. Also, I worked in an ebike shop for over 10 years as their mechanic, and I never had to adjust or reset anybody's gears except on folding bikes when they bent the derailleur by putting...

EMD (electric motors and drives) was bought out by Parvalux, then they transferred everything to Bournemouth. https://www.parvalux.com/

    Brexit, for once some facts.

On average 500,000 people die every year in the UK. That's fairly constant over the last 10 years. That means 38,000 in any 28 day period. There are approximately 1000 new cases of covid per day, which means 28,000 in the last 28 days. If you took a random sample of 28,000 people, you'd expect...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Basically, the old firm civil service along with their associates and partners in crime are being cleaned out. Some realise that their positions are untenable under the new regime. It's no big deal and nothing to get excited about.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Things are pretty bleak in some parts of the USA as weird forces are at work, but here's a light-hearted take of the sort of things that's going on. Warning: video shows pain and violence, but not enough to stop Youtube from having countless versions of it. Do not watch if you're a snowflake.

Help! Tube-mounted battery brackets, adaptors etc. - what options are there?

That looks like an Ezee battery and motor. It looks like a really hood solution for the battery location. A few pipe clips, a couple of cross-strips and you're done.

That's true for bicycles that have 9mm or occasionally 10mm axles, but most electric motors have much stronger 12mm axles or even 14mm. In 10 years on this forum, I've never heard of someone bending their motor axle, and free-hub motors only became common in the last couple of years.

Overamping and/or overvolting 9c clone hub

What you're not getting is that your BMS will cut off at 40A. Caliper brakes are good for 12 mph. Hydraulic disc brakes are good for 20 mph. For 30 mph, you need top spec hydraulic brakes, like Hope double piston and decent rotors. See the problems that Soundwave had with standard brakes when...

Overamping and/or overvolting 9c clone hub

A 33A or maybe 35A controller is about as high as you can go with that battery because of the BMS. Your cells are rated at 8A max. You should aim not to go over 50% of that for continuous current when designing your system. For 5P, that would be 20 amps, so you're already stressing your...

Happy 10th Birthday Batribike Quartz .

Oh dear. Roger, you need to read the book "Men are from Mars and women are from Venus". Buying your wife a bicycle or other fitness device when she didn't ask for it says, "you're fat and unattractive. You need to do more exercise"...

    Handlebar control panel

It probably has water in it and needs replacing. if it's still under warranty, take it back to Halfords. Stuff a couple of freezer bags inside the ends of the handlebars with a couple of rubber band in each. When it rains, put the freezer bag over the panel.

I found this video about a TGA conversion. This guy didn't worry about stretching his forks. i wouldn't have worried either. That's one helluva battery he has there. it should be fun going up a steep hill.

That would be about right then. Mine does 32 mph or 51.2kph at 80 rpm. That's without a motor.

    First e-bike Raleigh or Carrera

I wouldn't buy either. £130 for a Raleigh charger when it goes wrong compared with £10 for a typical Chinese bike.

If he pedals like the BMX guys in the world championships. I have 11/53 on my road bike. That's 25% higher. anyway, he can always use the next gear down when he's not going downhill. he doesn't have to stay in top gear all the time.
