    Wanted Buy ebike

It's the date when shops weren't any longer supposed to sell bikes with throttles on, though they were still allowed to sell the bikes they already had in stock.

Help! Giant Twist Esprit Troubleshooting Needed

The motor is 3 phase AC, so you have to set your meter to ACV to see anything. Even then, the controller, takes feedback from the motor about it's rotation. if it doesn't see rotation, it'll stop sending power pulses while it figures out what to do. Isn't there a separate cable to the motor for...

Help! Tsdz2: no assist, one battery bar only

I'm pretty sure it's not a battery issue. It sounds more like a blown mosfet or two in the controller, especially as you said the motor made weird noises before it packed up. When you get the controller out, you can test it to confirm.

Torque v cadence - which has more efficient battery usage (my wife's battery ran out, mine did not...)?

So, on the hilly ride, your bike emptied the battery quicker than hers?

    Tongsheng TSDZ2 (or installation?) fault?

I'd go for the LCD connector next. One of the pins will have battery voltage on it. Be very careful mot to short any of the other pins when testing. use a sewing needle to get a contact with each hole until you find the battery voltage one. I din't think it's a motor problem per se, but could...

    Tongsheng TSDZ2 (or installation?) fault?

Now you need to measure where it connects to the motor before and during connection to see if it drops.

Built a battery, it doesn't work, now what?!

If you measure 42v on the connector, the BMS is probably OK. Have you got your wires the right way round on the connector? Put your voltmeter up the back of the XT60 when you connect it and attempt to switch on, to see what happens to the voltage. That should give you a clue. Photos always help.

    Tongsheng TSDZ2 (or installation?) fault?

You need to get a meter from somewhere.

    Tongsheng TSDZ2 (or installation?) fault?

Don't go by the charger. Measure the battery's voltage on its terminals with a meter to find out what state of charge it has.

    Sore wrist help.

I think you need a bit of mansplaining: It's just a diagram to show the height of the grip above the centre of the clamp. It's the same for all standard types of bars that you can get in different heights...

    Sore wrist help.

You can get riser bars in any height, like 20mm 50mm 100mm, 200mm, 500mm and all the sizes in between. You can measure the height of the bars you have:

    Battery charge cycles

Two things happen to batteries. If it's a crappy one, usually after someone didn't use it for a long time, it simply dies. If you have a reasonable battery and use it fairly regularly, it'll probably last forever. What happens is that the capacity gradually goes down and it beclmes saggy. By...

    Sore wrist help.

Don't get astem riser or adjustable stem. Instead, buy riser handlebars. You can get them in just about any height. They don't cost much, they look nicer, you get more fore and aft adjustment and they're safer. Loads of them on Ebay.

Torque v cadence - which has more efficient battery usage (my wife's battery ran out, mine did not...)?

Only if they pedal harder. Of course if your wife had switched her power off at the start, her battery wouldn't have gone flat at all and you would have been saying that the cadence sensor bike is more efficient and would have a longer range.

Torque v cadence - which has more efficient battery usage (my wife's battery ran out, mine did not...)?

The type of sensor doesn't make one iota of difference to the efficiency of the motor. The control system regulates how much power it feeds to the motor. The more power it feeds to the motor, the less hard you need to pedal. There is approximately 30% efficiency loss in converting the battery...

    Pendleton Somerby Battery Problems

The battery on my bike was stored for two years without use before I fitted it. I bought it for another project, but then changed my mind about it, so it just sat in my bedroom unwanted for all that time. I have a battery that I use for testing that hasn't been charged for 5 years. It's still...

    Pendleton Somerby Battery Problems

First step is to open the battery case. Inside are wires, a cell-pack and a management module (BMS). The BMS is connected by some wires, one of which is nrmally a ribbon cable that goes to a multi-pin connector. That ribbon cable is all the wires from the top of each cell group. You unplug the...

    Pendleton Somerby Battery Problems

If 3v is a true reading, it means that the management system has shut the battery down. That management sytem includes the switch. When any 36v lithium battery goes down to 29v, it gets shut down by the management system. Actually, there are 10 cell groups in the battery. When any one goes down...
