    Guinea Pig Needed

No, you're looking at it the wrong way. As I said, it's for people that want to ride most of the time without power. It's an RC motor, which runs on a 600g 6S lipo and give about 15 minutes use at full power. A 6S 1500w R/C motor weighs about 300g. You don't need a throttle, just an on/off...

Help! Lishui controller and LCD vs KT controller and LCD

Did you try the KT controller? Anecdotally , most people prefer it. I used controllers like yours for about 4 years because that's all there was then, but since I first tried current control 6 years ago, there's no chance of me going back. With the KT, I find it much easier to control the bike...

    Guinea Pig Needed

It's the light weight. The whole system with the battery probably weighs less than 2kg. Also, there's absolutely zero resistance when it's not engaged. These sort of devices are good for people that are generally happy riding without power, but they need help for maybe one particular hill on...

Anyone in the Bournemouth area who can help fix my bike?

It looks like your bike has the controller in the base of the receiver, which makes changing to a different type of battery tricky. It would be best would be to stick to the same type, given that you're not good at electrics. I'm not sure what they call that type, but you can probably find them...

E-scooters for hire in Birmingham from next week - These are the rules..

Did you see this? https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/black-country/police-appeal-after-rowley-regis-18870002 They'll be waiting round the corner from the hire station to nick your scooter, then use it for crime.

Planning to buy battery. Not sure how to install it.

You can't use that type of Bosch battery. It's only compatible with Bosch equipment and it also needs the Bosch mounting system. The battery communicates with the rest of the Bosch electronics in order to switch on and give power.

    Guinea Pig Needed

I love the fake reviews. One guy says that it doesn't need an ESC. I wonder if he's using his as some sort of brake.

Unless he's changed it, his one didn't have a lever for engagement. Instead it used the motor's torque reaction to bring in it contact with the tyre, then friction pulled it on tighter. That was what was so good about his design. It engaged and disengaged automatically with the throttle.

That lifts it off the wheel. AFAICS, you need to sort out your own throttle, ESC and battery.

    Viking motor 24v

It'll run twice as fast at 48v. That'll be OK on a bike with 20" wheels if you can find one with good enough handling and brakes, but on a bike with 26" wheels or bigger, it'll be too fast for it's power and it'll run very inefficiently, which will overheat both the controller and motor. Don't...

Powabyke Xbyke/Tongsheng TDZ - a 'not another build thread' thread

Do one long ride to figure out what happens to the display. Take a voltmeter to keep an eye on the battery, then you'll know for the future what to expect.

Help! Tsdz2: no assist, one battery bar only

You can see it's the pad next to the green wire. The pair will be the Tx or Rx wires for comms to the controller.

Powabyke Xbyke/Tongsheng TDZ - a 'not another build thread' thread

    I'd say less. 48v is half way. 51 v is 75% and 45v is 25%, approximately. 49.5v would be 62.5%.

    Tongsheng TSDZ2 (or installation?) fault?

Did you have your meter on AC? It needs to be on DC.

    Tongsheng TSDZ2 (or installation?) fault?

Any ground, which is the black battery wire and any joined to it. One of those holes is ground too, but it's safer to use the battery wire.

Powabyke Xbyke/Tongsheng TDZ - a 'not another build thread' thread

Maybe the battery meter isn't calculating correctly. I think I'd check the battery with a voltmeter and test how far you can go before segments disappear.

Help! Giant Twist Esprit Troubleshooting Needed

It doesn't look so bad in that photo. There's probably another connector in there, so have a look at it in case there's any obvious fault. Whichever connector for the hall sensors that you can get at, you need to check the hall sensor function. It's probably best to do it at the controller...

Repairing stripped threads on Bafang hub motor.

Yes, it's very easy to strip them. I just had a look at a SWX02. There's not enough meat on the inside to helicoil or tap out to the next size up, so, if yours is the same, there's not much you can do. I think, I'd glue the side-plate on with instant gasket and glue the 4 stripped screws in...
