    Where Do You Live V2.0

The system is rather different since this first started. All we need is the first half of your post code to add you to the map. It can't be left fo everyone to add themselves since that also allows the map to be wrecked. .

bike without single point of failure

On the Leaf the gear change puck always returns to the middle after an action is selected. So it's forward for Reverse, back for Forward, to the right for Park or held to the right for a few seconds for Neutral. Took me a little while to get used to. It's all electrical actions for each, no...

bike without single point of failure

Agreed, but Sunbeam and others with oilbath and dry full chaincases never bothered on bicycles for a couple of reasons. One was the hub gears ruling that out. The other was the steel frames that meant frame expanders allowed tube and tyre changes by only removing the left hand wheel nut...

bike without single point of failure

Oddly enough other car firms use the reverse logic too. My Nissan latest Leaf is gear puck back to go forward, puck forwards to engage reverse. .

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Not to worry, Covid-19 will mean there will be very little difference since we are in it up to our necks either way. .

bike without single point of failure

No shaft system with dual right angle drives will have that efficiency. Also weight will be a problem, especially if fully enclosed as well. The most efficient transmission which maintains maximum efficiency with vanishingly little wear over at least two decades is the old pre war Sunbeam...

bike without single point of failure

The claimed over 99% efficiency is nonsense of course, every new drive claims the same and always has done. Independent labs show very different results. Nothing gets near to the simple chain and sprocket drive, which is why it has always persisted. .

    length of lockdown?

A BBC Radio 4 programme expert discussion on the subject about a couple of weeks ago, possibly in their Briefing Room series, and it's been reported elsewhere a number of times. It refers only to the infection period, we have no idea of the year end position of course. .

    length of lockdown?

45,000 is the official death toll of Covid-19, but that leaves large numbers unaccounted for. Compared with last year there's 65,000 excess deaths over the norm for the same period, so that's obviously a more accurate number. Probably many deaths were't recorded as due to Covid-19, especially...

Possibly the worst cycle accessory i have seen this year

I dislike all these arrow or flashing light direction indicators for bicycles. The fact that they are not a standard feature on bikes and set far too narrow means that drivers are likely to miss them. A simple straight outstretched arm is far clearer and being in the drivers eyeline is not...

bike without single point of failure

The trouble with having a drive on each side of the rear wheels is of course the combination of the more difficult wheel removal and the prevalance of punctures on bicycles. That's probably a major reason why both the Swizzbee and its successor the Dolphin both failed in the market after very...

    World's first manufactured non-cuttable material.

No problem, it isn't indestructible, only uncuttable. It will still melt when faced with an oxy-acetylene torch or thermic lance. As we all know, if the crooks are determined enough they steal it. .
