    Power cutting out

OK, it's unlikely to be a battery problem. When you looked at the battery connections. How many wires go to it. Are there just the two main ones or are there others?.

Help! KT-LCD8H & KT Controller Throttle (only) issues

All throttles work at 5v. The only time battery voltage makes a difference is when you have the LEDs for battery charge state on the throttle, but they don't affect the working of the throttle. In other words, the throttle will work with a 24v, 36v, 48v, or any other battery. It has a separate...

There used to be a sort of exploded diagram in one of the Panasonic publicity pages, but i can't find it anymore. I found this if you have good eyes: [URL https://eu.industrial.panasonic.com/sites/default/pidseu/files/downloads/files/panabyc2015_eng.pdf found it: [

    Battery question

That's completely normal. You're charger charges to 42.0v, then the balancing system will drain down any cells that are over say 4.17v to 4.17v. You have 10 cell-groups, so the total voltage would drain down to 41.7v. If you put the charger on again, it'll charge back up to 42v and the whole...

    KTM Elycan

It's been a long time, but IIRC there is some sort of regen setting in the LCD. You have to set it to minimum or off. edit: i just found a manual. here it is. see p27.

    Battery question

There's no point in running a 36v mid motor at 48v unless you have a very high natural cadence because the cranks will spin 33% faster and if you pedal at normal speed, it'll run inefficiently. I'm pretty sure that you need the 48v controller to run at 48v. With a mid drive, if you need more...

Adding front & rear lights to E-bike

You need to be very careful when connecting lights to an ebike's electrics. If you overload the supply, you can do serious damage. Make sure you understand how much power the system can supply and the ratings of the lights. IMHO, it's much better to use an ordinary LED headlight powered from a...

Halfords - What to Make of This?

I've never heard of anybody breaking an electric bike because they were too heavy. We've had some heavy riders have spokes come loose and break. The worst problem is the extra power needed. The average motors don't have enough power to keep speed high enough on hills, which is very bad for the...

    Battery question

The average Ebike uses about 4w of power when the controller is switched on, but not powering the motor. That's measured using a wattmeter. I don't know why it's so high as the 5v regulator is only giving out about 50mA to power the sensors and the CPU. The 12v regulator powers the mosfets and...

    Cassette wear?

This is what a new cassette might look like. Look at the shape of the teeth. They're all slightly different. If you're in any doubt, find a Google image of your exact cassette you have and compare them: Here's what a worn cassette looks like, which might cause chain jumping. Presumably, it was...

    Another Noob question

Kudos Secret is a good bike. Everything is standard Chinese, so you won't have any trouble with spares or upgrades. There are a lot of similar bikes. They're all good. My general advice is to get one with at least 36v (avoid 24v) and has at least 3 levels of assist. Buying locally has the...

Motor temp meaurement from Hall sensors?

To the Decathlon Rockrider Owner with a Charging Problem

The thread has disappeared from me for whatever reason. Here's my reply to the person who's bike wouldn't charge: All these things are unnecessary. All you need to do is test the voltage on the charger connector and battery charge socket to get the answer for what's wrong. It could be a fuse in...

    Kit advice

It's better to get branded ones like Tektro, Juicy, Shimano, Avid, hayes, magura, etc, Avoid unbranded, Zoom and Clarkes. be careful that they're genuine. Any set coming from China for less than £40 is unlikely to be genuine. Search by those each of those brand names to filter out all the crap...

Motor temp meaurement from Hall sensors?

This has been an interesting thread. Lot's of information and discussion is always good. I quote Flecc from that 2017 thread in the link above. This is it in a nutshell. For most of us, overheating is just not a problem. As I said above, nobody is burning motors, so it's not a problem we...

    Power cutting out

Never make assumptions. you find out what's wrong by testing. In that case, the white wire in the motor cable is the speed sensor. Most likely cause of tour problem is that you didn't push in the motor connector far enough. It has to go all the way to the marked line.

    Kit advice

Change the brakes to hydraulic. They'll be a hundred times better You can get decent used ones on Ebay for about £40 a pair. they only take a few minutes to fit as long as you buy them with the hose attached to the lever and the caliper.

    Power cutting out

You need to find out what's shutting down. Start with the battery. Put a voltmeter on the battery to controller connection and observe what happens to the voltage during the shutdown. If the voltage drops, it's a battery problem. If it doesn't, it's the controller. Where does it get the speed...
