Batribike Granite Pro bought (knowingly) with dead battery - advice please!

Some batteries need to be switched on to charge. Never take any notice of battery indicator LEDs because there's all sorts of things that can make them unreliable. instead, measure the battery voltage with a meter as soon as you take it off the charger. The voltage can give an indication of...

Advice please.... Pro Rider E-Wayfarer controller.

You're wasting your time looking at and playing with current settings and measurements. Your problem is synchronisation between the motor and the controller or uneven pulses reaching the motor. You need to look at any settings that affect synchronisation or any connections or wires that might...

    Confusion on Controller

That's pretty straight forward. They have provided a link for the ignition wire. After connecting the battery, check that you have 5v on either the throttle or PAS connector between the red and black wires, or you can use the hall sensor connector. Once that's confirmed, switch off and connect...

    Review Basis Beacon 2019 Review

Yes, it's really weird. Companies that have been around for a very long time, like Wisper, Juicy and Woosh have figured all this out now, but it must have been a learning experience for them too.

    Review Basis Beacon 2019 Review

That's not a bad bike for the price. You have a speed control controller that gives maximum power for each of the three levels with a different speed limit for each level. Some OEM bikes have controllers that control the current, which solves that problem you highlighted. In other words it's a...

    Lucas sealed lead acid batteries

7AH for an SLA battery is its capacity, but not how much you can draw from it. Typically, you'll get half of that, so 3.5AH, which is pretty well useless. SLAa are three times the weight, half the capacity and half the life of lithium, so lithium is 12 times as good in terms of what you get for...

Hub motor swap from Bafang to MXUS

Your conclusion is wrong. A reading of 1 doesn't imply that everything is OK with the controller. You should get a reading in the range 12K to 22K. What scale did you measure on? Does your meter show 1 when you short the probes? If so, it means that one of the mosfets is shorted.

The connector you need to check is on the chain-stay about a foot from the motor. Did you check that one?

Did you check the motor connector? If not, it might have saved a lot of bother.

Help me understand how derailleurs work with rear hub motor please

There's a freewheel between the driving cogs and the wheel just like any bike, so the motor turns completely independently. Imagine the motor as something that is attached to the stationary axle, and the hub that the spokes are attached to as being separate. There is another freewheel between...

    Confusion on Controller

Rather than show us random internet pictures of things that don't match, show us a photo of the actual controller you have with the wires spread out and separated, so that we can see what you have, then we can help. like this:

Probably, the same as above. Count the teeth on the chainwheel and on the top gear to be sure because there are some different versions of that bike. Post them here.

    Help! Carrera vulcan espec advice

It's not easy to test the hall sensors unless you have a spare controller side motor connector because there's nowhere to get a point to probe. Although I've not done it, I think the Suntour motor should be easy enough to dismantle, then you can check the hall sensors inside. £500 is too...

Carrera vengeance e bike flashing lights not working now

If you can't fix it, you can disconnect the brake switch as a temporary method, or even as a permanent measure if you have a switch on the other brake. You only need one. Follow the cable from the brake until you find a connector.

    pendleton somerby electric bike

I just fixed one. Its freewheel was jamming rather than slipping. The freewheel is a DNP 8 speed 11/32T. They're only available from certain sources. I doubt that any bike shops would have them and I reckon that if you took the bike back to Halfords, it would take them a long time to get a...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Get the popcorn ready. The Hells Angels are on their way at this very moment to liberate CHAZ and hand it back to the Seattle police, probably on 4th July. In case you don't know, CHAZ is the City Hill Automonous Zone, where communists have taken over the zone and made it a police-free area...

Wall of text for nothing. The guy wanted to know whether that battery is any good. The answer is "no". As soon as you said "Maybe" and bring in more complicated things, it could be confusing for him or anybody else who reads it and gets ideas from it, which is not helpful at all. Thankfully, he...
