    Brexit, for once some facts.

but why then the disproportionate representation of ethnicities? Do you have a theory on why Lara wan't allowed to represent Romania?

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Good question. In this case we can clearly identify the two gay panel members as being culpable, but I would say that it goes a lot deeper than that. The key players in the TV company must have been aware of what was going on, so one might say that they condoned it. Why would they condone it...

    Adding rear disc brake.

I've had to repair two bikes that had those faults. One was done by Halfords when the guy took his electric bike in to have a puncture repaired. They noticed his loose disc and the crappy Chinese screws holding it, so they decided to fix it and replace the screws with their nice star ones. If...

Very nice ebike at Costco Black Friday deal

Go on Kirstin, you know you want one. Handy in the snow too- and on the beach. Could be a fanny magnet on the seafront in the summer.

    Vintage bike conversion

I have to admit that I cringe whenever anybody does such a project. I'm thinking, why would you want to, when you can make a much better electric bike out of any £50 catalogue bike? Side-pull brakes aren't going to hack it. Three-speed gears - yuk!. If it were my bike, and I was so nostalgic...

You bought a battery, and it had no screws or BMS in it? That's never happened to me!

Help! Intermittent fault on battery - causing loss of power

General advice: Whatever problem you have on any bike, you test and measure to find out where the problem is. If you just replace random parts, you will never find the problem. Never replace anything unless you know it to be faulty by testing or inspection. Wire a pair of flying leads to the...

    Brompton Cute Q70 question

All motors are the same. Three phase wires, 5 hall wires and a speed sensor wire. The connectors will fit the controller directly. How do you need a wiring diagram?

Battery and charge connectors for case

Don't add a high current switch. Instead, use the BMS to switch off the battery. That means buy a BMS that has a switch header on it, and if your BMS is already installed without a switch, add your own on the 12V gate to the discharge mosfets. Cheap and simple!

    Batavus Lento

A bike with 20" wheels doesn't flip because the battery and the C of G is much closer to the ground. I'm telling you, that bike will wheelie in first gear. I've ridden enough similar bikes to know that. I don't care what happens in Holland.

    Batavus Lento

I guarantee that if you put panniers on that bike and go up a steep hill in first gear, it'll wheelie or flip. Remember the guy who's Big Bear kept wheelying. He had a heavy front motor and his battery wasn't nearly as far back. If you want to have rearward panniers, it doesn't mean that you...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

I thought the UK was part of the Eu at the moment.

    Adding rear disc brake.

The writing on the disc should be on the outside. You throw away the plastic part. That's only a spacer to keep the screws in case you don't have a disc. It's important that you use the correct screws. Don't be tempted to use the nice star screws that normal bikes use because they're too long...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Something to cheer you guys up. Not quite Brexit, but more or less the same thing. Hungary has pulled out of the Eurovision song contest because it's "too gay". A pro government commentator said that not participating would benefit the nations mental health. The Eurovision is similar to...

    Vintage bike conversion

Do you know which controller you fixed your Ezee with? I tried 5 different replacement ones, and none of them worked. It worked perfectly with the Ezee controller.

Commuter Bike - Folding Electric Recommendations

All these weird and wonderful special folding bikes are marvels of engineering. The only problems is that they come and go. You have to ask yourself where will you get spares from in three years time? I always give the same advice. Stick to known brands and designs that have stood the test of...

    derestrict

Nothing changes except the speed. The only downside is that you use up the battery faster, which should be obvious. You can set the speed of the throttle and pedal sensor separately. No harm will come to the bike if you derestrict it, since the current is always lower above 15 mph.

One for the battery experts- new pack - strange problem- Any advice?

Unplug the sense wire multi-pin connector, put your black probe on B-, where the black wire from the cell-pack joins the PCB, then probe each pin in the connector with the red probe. record all the voltages, then you can see/calculate the cell voltages.

Cyclotricity 250w front hub, what is it and what would be better?

I think the Cyclotricity has block-type connectors, which I prefer, in which case one like this. http://www.pswpower.com/ven.php?cargo.2016-3f-33c0

Cyclotricity 250w front hub, what is it and what would be better?

That's the bit where I got mixed up. You're only dealing with one problem, but I'm dealing with about six at a time. The other guys have the Greenedge CS2 that has the controller in the battery. You have the Cyclotricity with the separate controller in a box.
