    Conversion kits and battery

OK, so it's one of those 500W direct drive motor kits. That explains the lack of climbing ability. What you need is a 500w geared motor, ideally running at 48v, but the complete kit would cost around £600 to £700. I'm guessing that you have a 22 amp controller and a battery capable of 25 amps...

It's not necessary if you have Marathon Plus tyres. personally, I'd rather carry a puncture repair kit than a Gaadi tube - a lot cheaper too. I've never found a puncture that i couldn't fix with a repair outfit, and when out out on my road bike, I've had as many as six punctures in one go.

Are tyres & tubes really so much easier to change nowadays?

He said he had a punctured tube, not tubeless. He has a Woosh bike with easy to remove tyres. He doesn't need all that stuff.

Renovating my EBCO - hit a snag. Help please !

Does the display have level 0 = no power, and was it set to that level? There are most likely settings in the LCD for where to get the speed signal from and possibly settings from the pedal sensor too. Can you show us a photo? Did it come with a manual?

    PAS - Raleigh Array sensor

That's a standard Chinese (Ananda) ebike controller used om many popular brands. You need to pull it out and show all the wires. The label just tells us what we already know. the only weird think is the sensor. I've never seen that used with an Ananda controller before. Yours must have special...

Are tyres & tubes really so much easier to change nowadays?

It's the deeper MTB rims that make it easier. you don't need to change tubes when you get a puncture. Punctures are easy to fix when out cycling. turn the bike upside down, hook off one side of the tyre, pull out the tube, locate the hole and patch it, check whether the thorn /nail/glass is...

    Conversion kits and battery

can you tell us exactly what motor, controller and battery you have. There are probably better and cheaper solutions than that 1000w kit. The problem with those 100W kits is that they're designed for continuous 30 mph. if you run them at normal speeds, they're inefficient and overheat. With...

It depends how you ride. They're fine as long as you slow down for tight corners. Over the years, I've slipped a couple of times, but never fallen off. Every tyre has its limit of grip. You find out where it is and ride within it. I always ride to the maximum.

Purchasing a new Brompton but which Conversion Kit?

There's no pedal sensor on it, so it's illegal. I wouldn't recommend ETS after what happened to Allen-Uk when he went there to get his bike converted. I know it was a while ago, but it's the principle of fleecing customers that I have a problem with. That doesn't normally change. I'll remind...

    Conversion kits and battery

You're going to have a lot more problems than connectors. £400 isn't enough to buy a kit and a battery that can supply 1000w. The cheap 48v batteries can't provide enough current. Expect to pay around £350 for the battery alone. You'll have to pay around £50 duty, etc, if you buy one from...

    LCD S866 + Brainpower controller

People think that more magnets will give a faster response time, but they don't. I guarantee that you won't detect any difference between an 8 magnet disc and a 12 magnet one. The controller has algorithms that prevent the motor going off when you don't want it to. It's not as simple as counting...

    Brompton Cute Q70 question

That kit will have the wrong size wheel. As I said, Chinese 16" is smaller. Also, the motor will have a 100mm axle, which will mean substantial stretching of the Brompton forks to get it in and awkward folding thereafter. If you want 20 mph, you have to go up to 48v, which will mean some sort...

    Bike Speedometer

You haven't given any details about your bike or its electrical system. Wireless bike computers don't like electric motors. All bike computers do the job, even these £2 ones work well. If you're going to spend much more than that, it would probably better to upgrade your controller to one with...

    PAS - Raleigh Array sensor

You need to check your motor wires first. You will need the controller, LCD, PAS, possibly a speed sensor and optional throttle (recommended).

    PAS - Raleigh Array sensor

It's pretty straight forward then. First you need to look in that compartment in the front of your battery to find the motor connector/s, then you see whether it's a sensored (3 thick wires and 5 or 6 thin)or sensorless motor (3 thick plus maybe three thin). If there's a connector near the...

"As it is capacitive type proximity switch, its detecting object target is not limited to only conductor, but also liquid and even powder things, like plastic, water, glass, oil, etc. " That will be fun when it starts raining! Of course, as an alternative, you could always use a microphone...
