Multiple questions, help..! Which controller can I use?

That's a very strange story. Did they really do a software update or just set the speed limit? It looks like standard Chinese stuff that doesn't need or have any software updates. Why would they set it to 20 mph when the legal limit is 15 mph? None of that makes sense. You should ask the shop...

    New battery required

There have been various forum posts about those copy batteries packing up after a short while under speculation that the software in the Yamaha system shuts them down after some time. Here's the charger. Almost certainly, they'll ask you for the bike's serial number. If it's stolen, you'll be...

Yose Power Rear 48v freewheel question

The import thing is the stack-height of the gears. You need it to be as low as possible to get the wheel on the centre-line of your frame without having a large off-set in the rim. Some frames have a bit of an off-set built in, but many are symmetrical, so I'm assuming the latter. When you fit...

    New battery required

Without a battery normally means nicked. If there's no charger as well, it's certain that it's been nicked. If the old battery is caput, ask for it because it might be cheaper to get it refurbed rather than a new one. Chargers are very expensive too!

Fitting PAS sensor to Claris Double - help please

Why didn't you take the photo from under the BB, like I asked? That photo doesn't show the chainwheel side, which is where you normally fit the PAS. Also, it seems to show a normal square taper BB, not an Octalink or Hollowtech.

First time E bike rider in Australia with non working very neglected 4yo Aseako Sport (Tonaro)

His motor won't be OK at those currents. That's nearly double the standard current. The clutch is very fragile. Some guys had to replace them several times after they broke running at standard current. The later ones had a modified clutch that was stronger, but still broke. I don't know if...

    Musings on an Ezee

The Ezee controller uses speed control algorithms. Here's how to check whether you motor maxes out or is restricted by the controller. With a fully-charged battery, lift the wheel off the ground and measure its speed. Drain the battery somewhere past half-full. Repeat the speed measurement. If...

    woosh big bear ls owner

There are lots of similar batteries that fit different to yours. You can get ones that fit, but they have to be the exact same shape. I think you can get them from Woosh.

    Winter deals

Thanks Kirstin. You just reminded me that I lost one of my Aldi lobster gloves, so I ordered a set (£3.99 postage). These are by far the best type of gloves for really cold weather.

Question about speed restriction on Dillenger Kit

Stock comes and goes frequently. Ask them when new ones are coming.

Question about speed restriction on Dillenger Kit

A rear motor is quieter, has better traction, doesn't affect the bike's handling and doesn't normally require the drop-outs to be filed to allow the axle to fit. Also, the motor cable doesn't need to cross the steering axis. Cables don't like constant bending back and forth. You have a 7-speed...

    Battery re-conditioners

The law says that the motor must be rated at no more than 250w, so any motor marked or stamped more than 250w is illegal. Now let's be practical. The manufacturers sometimes make the same motors with different stampings or they list them as 250w - 500w or similar. There is no test for a motor's...

Question about speed restriction on Dillenger Kit

If you really want that kit, ring them up and tell them you want to order it, but not unless they confirm how to release the speed limit. It's probably a good idea to ask them some questions first, so that they can see you're a proper buyer and not someone trying to catch them out. Try this...
