    Fantastic battery?!

You never listen. We've actually done it! You haven't. Just understand that we know what we're talking about. This one shows Volts, watts, amps and watt-hours. It's very accurate, though accuracy isn't important, since battery capacity is never as stated. After you've run down the battery a...

    Fantastic battery?!

If you want to measure the battery's voltage, you stick your probes in the two outer terminals. The battery needs to be switched on. The matter is made more complicated by voltage sag. When you use power from the battery, the voltage goes down roughly in proportion to how much power you draw...

I bumped into the guys from Oxygen at TheBike Show. They told me about the new folding bike, and they also told be about upgrades to the stepthrough ad city bikes that get hydraulic brakes and the cassette motor and gears., plus a new colour scheme.

    Fantastic battery?!

We call them wattmeters. You can buy them from Ebay for £8. Many of us have used them extensively. That's how we learned how batteries and ebikes worked. We didn't try and copy knowledge from Battery University. If you want to find out about them, use Google to search the forum for "wattmeter".

    Yosepower hub kits.

Within 5 seconds of switching on, press and the up and down buttons until it goes to the settings screen. The up and down buttons change the values. Short press of the power button changes to the next parameter and a long press saves and exits to normal display.

Someone to supply and fit electric conversion to 2 folding 20 inch wheel Dahons, within 80 miles of Dorchester?

You're right. I found this one, but you still have to solve the gearing. I think the Dahon has a 52T chainwheel.

    Speed controller query

Lots of people say that when there's nothing wrong with them. Some electrical faults make the motor judder and jam just like the gears are broken. Even if they are shot, you can buy replacements for the common motors very cheaply from Aliexpress, and they're easy to change.

    Disregarding UK pedelec laws

There are a lot of different ways to get more torque, but a 1000w motor won't help you.. Probably the easiest is to get a Xiongda 2-speed motor and controller set. You can get them by emailing Bonnie Xiong at bonnie@xiongdamotor.com.cn. The controller, LCD and motor cost about £250 including...

    Yosepower hub kits.

You always need a rim tape. If you haven't got one, you can run a couple of rounds of insulating tape over the spoke holes. You don't normally get a rim tape when you buy a Chinese motor wheel, so you have to provide your own.

Multiple questions, help..! Which controller can I use?

What he's saying is that his LCD doesn't allow him to set the speed any higher. He can reach the speed at which he can set it to. Previously there was no limit to the max speed setting, so he could reach his motor's max speed.

New Smaller Lighter Swytch Kit - Coming Soon on Indiegogo

They're never as easy as they look. They can work well for some bikes, especially the cheaper ones, but I's say that filing the drop-outs is beyond many customers, then you have the problem of how to fit the pedal sensor. The photo shows it on the left side of the crank, where there often isn't...

    Fantastic battery?!

Andy, I used to feel sorry for you when you were called Smart Ebiker and they all ganged up on you for being proud of that bike, but now you just fill me with despair. Just like the majority of your posts, that graph is completely misleading. Some guys have suggested that you're just trolling...

    Help! Powacycle lynx altura

You have to look at the left side of the motor. the bike has rim brakes, so that probably means standard 135mm width, but it might have been planned to use the band brake, in which case it'll be much wider. You can see whether it has the gap for the band brake when you look at the bike, but it's...

    Fantastic battery?!

I don't know where that guy got that graph from, but it certainly doesn't represent the type of lithium cells we get in our batteries. It looks like a LiFePO4 one superimposed on normal Li-Iion battery scales.

    Fantastic battery?!

I said that his bike's battery meter was a simple voltmeter. I never mentioned Bosch and he doesn't have a Bosch because he has a 17ah Panasonic battery. Bosch is equally meaningless, but in a different way.

    Speed controller query

Probably not. there are three types of controllers. Sensorless controllers, work with just the three motor wires, whether the motor has hall sensors or not. Sensored controllers only work if the motor has hall sensors and they're connected. Dual mode ones can detect the hall sensors and use them...

    Fantastic battery?!

You can't go by the meter on any electric bike, though some are better than others. On your bike, all it is is a voltmeter and it goes down with the battery voltage. The battery voltage always accelerated downwards as you use up the battery because you are using watt-hours of energy. When the...

Help! Intermittent loss of motor power

It's a shame you didn't mention this before the bike show because I had a long chat with the Ebco guys and I've known the owners since 2011. I've been out for a bike ride with them. They have some nice new bikes with the tiny Bafang cassette motor. Back to your problem. The only thing I can...

Multiple questions, help..! Which controller can I use?

I suspect that there's more settings. When you're in the settings menu, try holding the "M" button for a long time to see if it goes further. The video doesn't work. Can't you put it on Youtube?
